Another good chapter! I really wanted to see a proper fight between Guts vs Zodd though. Maybe in the next chapter.

I supposed it's possible Griffith redirected (or deflected) Guts' blow like he did with the Skull Knight at the end of Falconia, and the earth shattering when Guts' sword touches the ground is the actual force of his swing, but then there's the tree losing all of it's leaves and a lot of weird energy going on which seems more connected to the quake than Guts. I agree that it isn't entirely clear.

The way it seemed illustrated to me was that Guts is going in for a swing towards Griffith's back, then there's some sort of illustrated blow with the wind effect, indicting that Guts' sword was suddenly stopped, either by his own volition or Griffith's. However, the next page shows Griffith embracing Casca, with a bemused Guts. The page after that—the low angle with Guts' sword over Griffith's shoulder, with Griffith and Casca in the foreground—makes it seem like he stopped because it's clear the sword would have gone through Casca. After that he lowers his sword. Maybe if the Berserker armour had taken over, he wouldn't have stopped, which is why the author's made a point of retaining his normal self, which I found a bit odd given the situation.

Who knows, hopefully we find out a bit more. It can go either way. I think the art is pretty good, obviously not Miura-level, but a fine replacement, however the destruction scenes are a little messy and there hasn't been much dialogue yet.

Those are really good details you caught! And I pretty much agree!

Oh, but if Guts was in Berserker mode, he 100% would never have stopped. He wouldn't have been able to kill Griffith regardless, but no one else would be standing.

The fact people are complaining about that blows my mind. Like, Shierke can't assist him, nor the Moonlight Boy; if he actually let it activate now, story over, basically. There's nothing he could do past just kill everyone until he himself got killed.

page 4 : now Serpico 's face and body look like a girl 's ones .

page 7 : at 1st , i was expecting that the sword would pass through griffith and cut the 3 girls , lol .

griffith acts like a toxic ex-boyfriend , lol :

years ago , he broke the body and mind of casca .

after her mind was broken , he didnt want her anymore , and he abandoned her , then he made love with the princess instead .

now after guts fixed her mind , griffith suddenly wanted her again , and he came to take her back to his kingdom .

i guess the next arc is : guts has to save casca , AGAIN .

if he did stop on his own, it was because he knew he *couldn't* hurt Griffith

Why? I don't understand your reasoning here. Guts has been trying to kill Griffith basically the whole manga. You're saying he stopped because he suddenly realised he can't? I don't agree with that. Rickert was able to physically strike Griffith. Guts is prepared to die trying, but he won't harm Casca. He may have been taken aback by Griffith embracing her and stopped. I don't think he stopped because he realised the folly of his ways or anything like that.

Truly menacing. Elf Island is literally falling apart. Everything because of sole Griffith's presence on its ground.

I'm genuinely worried about everyone from Guts' party, but also about every single citizen of this island.

Moonchild seems to be something of a hindrance to Griffith, no? I guess in the next chapter we will see him successfully kidnapping Casca and bringing her to Falconia.

Poor Casca. Not only she had to go through her trauma in the worst possible way, but it also seems that Griffith used his power to brainwash her, or at least hypnose to make her completely submissive to his will.

All panels looked nice. Different to Miura-sensei's art style, but they looked very good. I miss insane amount of details typical for Kentarou Miura's style, but he was a genius and his apprentices can only try to find their own way in replicating their master's art style.

On the other side, I find the way in which sweat droplets are drawn a little bit hmm... awkward? They look fine in most of cases. They just start looking strange when we see 'em hanging from a character's chin, haha.
