Berserk Chapter 366 Discussion

They were short, but still conveyed what needed to be conveyed and a good resolution with more to come to the perpetual cliffhanger Miura left us with.

The art was top notch, no issues whatsoever with it and I'm sure a seasoned vet like Mori, who loved Miura probably more than we all do, knows what he's doing when he decided to finish this in manga form.

Great, as usual! And wow, a whole chapter of Puck WITHOUT being the chestnut. That alone is a monument.

I wonder is Griffith came here to take Casca with him, or just here to destroy the island or just came to talk.

Amazing chapter.

You really don't understand what's happening. Griffith is there not by choice; him and the Moonlight Boy (Guts and Casca's child) share the same body (The Egg of the Perfect World consumed the fetus, incarnating him alongside Griffith) and he gets control of the body during full moons, and just like when he was the demon fetus, he rushes to his parents (through the Spirit Tree); the full moon has faded, Griffith is back and on the island unintentionally.

Zodd was shown in previous chapters to also follow Griffith around when the boy takes control of the body. Hence why he's there now.

These two chapters are very confusing after chapter 380's ending. It looked like Griffith wanted to talk, even shed a single tear but now... he has the most malicious smile I've ever seen? And he even brought Zodd? Huh. Very weird, not the direction I've expected- but Guts trying to kill him immediately is understandable. Not much to discuss here, really.

Zero clue what the hell you're even talking about. There was never a 380, this is 366, and it seems like you missed so many points, it's not even funny. You'd be better off re-reading the entire thing at this point.

I think it’s well done how griffith went from crying to arrogant resting face in a second and i could imagine miura drawing it similar.

Godslapper Rickert > Guts confirmed

Seems like the new author was fed up with loli witches going ~kyaa which honestly hit me unprepared, I thought we would get a chill chapter and maybe morey Skull Knight background before the action arrives.

Anyway, Zodd is here, looking forward to it.

I thought they would go with an easy entry as to not stirr up too much drama, this shift in style from loli witches going ~kyaa to classic berserk was pretty sudden and coincidentally its when a new author takes over? Kinda sus

The last decade of berserk has mainly been about deescalation, I truly believed guts was never meant to fight griffith again. Their difference in power is just too great anyway.

Kinda expected Griffith to just fade away honestly and then for Guts, Casca, Schierke etc to have a discussion about what just happened. Maybe Skull Knight showing up again.

Certainly not this

anyway, I cal, dibs on Zodds head. The most powerfull mages in the world are on elf island, Griffifh will leave but Zodd wont.

You can stop with the "Loli witches going ~kyaa" shit it's not funny and you think you're being clever and observant but proving the opposite.  It was literally a few pages in one episode where this happened. It also made perfect sense in context given the characters involved.

When you say "The last decade of berserk has mainly been about deescalation" that would go back 5 volumes of 41. In those 5 volumes we had the battle with the Sea God, the action in Falconia involving Rikert and Rakshas, Casca's corridor of dreams and multiple other battles that involved action and escalation. Maybe about the last ONE volume was light on action, and guess what? It was necessary for the plot and our characters in order to set up important lore and the Moonlight Boy, and subsequently, leading to this confrontation with Griffith that was always meant to shatter the seeming peace that was found on Elfhelm. It was foreshadowed NUMEROUS times.

I'm sorry, but if you genuinely believe that EVERYTHING has been deescalation and that Griffith was just going to fade away after appearing before Guts and then they have a little talk and get over everything....you are an idiot or just someone who hasn't been paying attention at all to the story.

Thank You! finally someone who knows what they're talking about.

They did a good job capturing Griffith's gay aura and that's what really matters.

Griffith is strong, Guts cannot touch even him.

It felt more like his sword was just phasing through him, like thin air if you get what I mean.

Yeah, I think it's more like Griffith hologram is there. The moonlight boy is such a mystery.

Is moonlight boy & Griffith are the same person?Griffith/Femto clearly Left Falconia in chapter 358

Then we see the Boy arrive in elfhelm in chapter 363

Connect the dots...
