They were short, but still conveyed what needed to be conveyed and a good resolution with more to come to the perpetual cliffhanger Miura left us with.

The art was top notch, no issues whatsoever with it and I'm sure a seasoned vet like Mori, who loved Miura probably more than we all do, knows what he's doing when he decided to finish this in manga form.

Great, as usual! And wow, a whole chapter of Puck WITHOUT being the chestnut. That alone is a monument.

I wonder is Griffith came here to take Casca with him, or just here to destroy the island or just came to talk.

Amazing chapter.

You really don't understand what's happening. Griffith is there not by choice; him and the Moonlight Boy (Guts and Casca's child) share the same body (The Egg of the Perfect World consumed the fetus, incarnating him alongside Griffith) and he gets control of the body during full moons, and just like when he was the demon fetus, he rushes to his parents (through the Spirit Tree); the full moon has faded, Griffith is back and on the island unintentionally.

Zodd was shown in previous chapters to also follow Griffith around when the boy takes control of the body. Hence why he's there now.

These two chapters are very confusing after chapter 380's ending. It looked like Griffith wanted to talk, even shed a single tear but now... he has the most malicious smile I've ever seen? And he even brought Zodd? Huh. Very weird, not the direction I've expected- but Guts trying to kill him immediately is understandable. Not much to discuss here, really.

Zero clue what the hell you're even talking about. There was never a 380, this is 366, and it seems like you missed so many points, it's not even funny. You'd be better off re-reading the entire thing at this point.

Are you saying you didn't notice the chapter count here on MAL? The first 16 chapters of Berserk are A0-P0, then it goes 1-366!

Griffith didn't come to the island, the Moonlight boy did and he did it to see his parents like he always has.

Is moonlight boy & Griffith are the same person?

Speedreader.

Just my thoughts on it, nothing confirmed.

Yes it has.

Speedreader. That tear was The Moonlight Boys. Griffith said what he wanted to say, which was that he has no control on full moons.

Seems like the new author was fed up with loli witches going ~kyaa which honestly hit me unprepared, I thought we would get a chill chapter and maybe morey Skull Knight background before the action arrives.

How the fuck could you think that when the last episode literally ended on Griffith appearing before Guts.

JeramyJcb said:
Honestly the art looked great. I hope the reason Guts can’t hit him is because he isn’t in tune with magic or something. Aka I hope it’s something he can fix. Because if he just can’t hit him no matter what… that’s just pain.

The reason he can't hit him is because he is a member of the fucking Godhand.

JeramyJcb said:
Guts easily beats Zodd 1v1 btw

Guts has never defeated Zodd in a 1 v1. Not saying it isn't possible at this point in the story, but easily? wtf?

Magicmist said:
Also Zodd must have travelled extremely fast to get from falconia to the elf island....maybe he can help us skip another boat arc??

Yes, extremely fast. Through the World Tree Branches. We've already seen The Moon Light Boy travel through them.

Griffith is really strong now

Griffiths strength hasn't changed since his incarnation back in volume 21 almost 21 years ago.

I thought they would go with an easy entry as to not stirr up too much drama, this shift in style from loli witches going ~kyaa to classic berserk was pretty sudden and coincidentally its when a new author takes over? Kinda sus

The last decade of berserk has mainly been about deescalation, I truly believed guts was never meant to fight griffith again. Their difference in power is just too great anyway.

Kinda expected Griffith to just fade away honestly and then for Guts, Casca, Schierke etc to have a discussion about what just happened. Maybe Skull Knight showing up again.

Certainly not this

anyway, I cal, dibs on Zodds head. The most powerfull mages in the world are on elf island, Griffifh will leave but Zodd wont.

Zodd just here to be a ride for Griffith?

Oh my god. This chapter blew me away the characters are as good as they were with Miura. Griffith is so OP. And Zodd is back and he looks off so I'm guessing he's weaker than usual. And we got mroe farneese.

Mori and Studio Gaga goated, the art looks really good and I'm over the moon they'll be exclusively following Miura's plans.

I expected that Guts wouldn't be able to do shit to Griffith lol. Even Rickert was able to put more damage on him with that slap. Griffith just sitting there smiling like a champ while everyone is having a mental breakdown is just so funny to me.

I'm especially interested to see how Casca will react to all this. Zodd also turned up, this is going to be crazy good. I'm hyped for what's next, but I hope Mori and the studio take their time with it.

They did a good job capturing Griffith's gay aura and that's what really matters.

Literally came here to say that lmao
