Can't believe Miura ended his run with one of his best chapters in a long time. While it is extremely disappointing that we'll never get to see the following interaction that would've ensued, this is a good enough open-ended thematic ending to Berserk. That one of Griffith's most vile and unnecessary acts, borne entirely of resentful pettiness, would eventually cause a crack in his godly armor is nothing short of divine retribution. The man who lost everything found peace while the man who conquered all was left empty. A sentimental victory for Guts, if not the revenge he was seeking.
Funny that despite all, Berserk still managed to land a more poignant conclusion than most long-running manga. Rest in peace, Miura. You did great work.
