but random question: if the spider lady gave Watanuki the spiderweb that would help him find the crimson pearl, why would she need Watanuki to find it?
there must be something I misunderstood....
Since Jorougumo knows how that pearl looks like, even though she can't find it, Kimihiro uses the thread she gave him to searchfor the pearl since he doesn't know what is it... at least that's what I understand.
So Kimihiro ends up using Doumeki the same way Yuuko used him, and Kohane tags along because she's just that cute XD (any chapter with Kohane on it is made of win to me)
Wonder what did Watanuki see on the water... would it have something to do with Yuuko? or Himawari, perhaps?

If you read TRC along with this, the epilogue states that Watanuki-kun also chose to be the owner of the shop and be unable to leave the it because he is an entity that "shouldn't" exist. R!Syaoran made a similar choice by constantly changing worlds.
How does that come into play? I believe that in order to keep Yuuko's wish, to keep existing and live, he NEEDS to be the owner of the shop and never leave. Because if he ever leaves, he will surely disappear, and that would unfulfill Yuuko's wish. Regardless of the price he paid, he would've disappeared anyway. So he did this to make sure he does exist.
As to why his "time" has to be frozen, Watanuki's price was paid in part to keep the the universe's space-time logic to be normal. And also to fulfilll his personal wish, to meet and see Yuuko-san again. I do not think that the latter part of this is what Yuuko wanted, but she only wanted Watanuki to "live" as any other person would, not eternally wait for her because she cannot be resurrected.
So the continuation of this manga is this, to answer the question of whether Watanuki-kun made the right choice or not.

Well it was a nice one... after the Holidays break, all the mangas have been interesting nowadays!!! And our dear xXxHOLiC wasn't the exception.... So then the spiderweb thread.... or well in this case the spider thread was quite useful... I also wonder why sexy Jorougumo didn't search for the pearl by herself.... the reason behind that has to be the thing... whoever or whatever Watanuki saw on the compass water... that Wata saw...
Indeed... it's funny how Watanuki uses Doumeki now as Yuuko did with him... But the reasons are quite different... We know Wata can't go out of the store now... I'd be pissed and unhappy if I were him.... Oh well... I hope this is solved the best way possible... loved the way he used everything and discovered where he needed to go...
Oh something interesting as well... Kohane keeping company to Doumeki... I actually never expected that... Man that girl is really cute... If she were alive I'd really ask her out on a date... or at least invite her to a fancy restaurant or a nice ice cream too XD

This is strange... Kohane going with Doumeki and Himawari still nowhere to be seen.. This is the moment to start worrying about what happened to her, right?
Apart from that. It would be good if, for once, I got the feeling that something important is happening u.u
A guess:
She looks like Yuuko and Yuuko's real name is Himawari. Yuuko was Himawari's future self.
