Is that the chapter where Szayel rebirths himself from inside Nemu? If that's the case, then yes, perhaps saying he's trying to "revive" her may be the wrong way to put it. He created seven clones of the original, but Mayuri never showed any emotional attachments to any of them because they were all submissive and had no minds of their own. He didn't really care whether they died or not at the time because he could always make another emotionless copy. Its not until the seventh clone finally developed her own sense of judgement during this chapter before Mayuri once again started giving a damn. To him, this is now his greatest achievement. She is to Mayuri what perfection is to Szayel.

The colour spread was neat. Reminded me of the Arrancar spread Kubo did years back.



So the talking hand is a Quincy. What. It looks even more ridiculous now with the bows.



Mayuri still needs a backstory and I guess Nemu ties into that soon.



Oh, and Nemu's boobs can apparently grow and shrink between panels.

Nanagou apparently means 75. That means this could be the 75th Nemu clone. This could be hinting at Mayuri's backstory:



-his daughter died

-he tries his best to revive her but keeps failing

-these failures result in his drastic change in personality, becoming who he is today

-then the central 46 locked him into the Maggot's Nest



His Zanpaktou being themed after a drowned baby is symbolic of how he failed to save his daughter's life.



Now, the significance of Mayuri's quote: "Do you know how difficult it would be to raise the 'next you'..." He was unsuccessful at making a creation that had a will of its own, and now he was finally successful. His daughter was finally reborn, or at least that's my own take on it lol. If Nemu were to die again, Mayuri would most likely be back to square one (being unable to create something that has a will of its own). Imagine that, the limits of Mayuri's technology.



Speak shit about Bleach all you want, but any scene with Mayuri involved is badass. It would be an absolute shame if he were to die now.



Adding a bit to that, some kind of correction to consider.



The "Nanagou" doesn't have to be "75". Rather, it's "七号" which means "Number 7". There weren't that many previous Nemus, but there were six "failed" ones like you said.
