Which personification was displaying self-doubt? Was it 'Hichigo'? Was it 'Old-Man'? The only 'doubt' that has ever been displayed has been by Ichigo himself. You can see that in the new chapter clearly. In this current chapter, 541, what's causes Ichigo's inner world to collapses? It's Ichigo's anger and doubt, not Old Man.
Old Man in chapter 112: "I hate the rain. It rains here, too. WHEN YOU ARE MOODY IT BECOMES CLOUDY. When you are sad the rain comes down.... In order to prevent that from happening, I'll lend you whatever power you need!"
Old Man is embodiment of Ichigo's doubt, so yeah, he is only one affected by the rain because it is connected to him.
Hichigo is embodiment of ichigo's own rash and destructive personality as well as cockiness, while Zaraki in HM was his instincts.
The split personifications of his power take on parts of Ichigo's personality, since they all have split from Ichigo's own soul.

I don't really understand what's happening with Zangetsu? So all this time Ichigo has only been using part of his power even when he went Final Getsuga Tenshō mode to beat Aizen?
I think that time Quincy power in Ichigo finally accepted him becoming Shinigami (it happened in the dangai training with Isshin).
Really short chapter but it was good to see Old Man quincy again :D
I now wonder if Ichigo will develop his Quincy powers. I really want to see FGT Ichigo again without him loosing his powers and the Quincy aspect might be the key to it. Opie had this winged angel form - forgot the name so maybe Ichigo could use it to call FGT mode any time. :D
his previous FGT is pretty much leitz stilt of quincies - one time powerup version of volstandigg.
So yeh, to use fgt without loosing his power, he will need his quincy side too.
Based off the current information Tite Kubo has given us, FGT is not (not even pretty much) Letzt Stil. FGT embodies Ichigo's Shinigami abilities only. Isshin, Ichigo's father, told Ichigo about FGT because Isshin, who has no Quincy powers nor abilities that we know of, possess the same technique. Ichigo's FGT is passed down from his father's Shinigami blood.
Now we can speculate all day how FGT and Letzt Still are related; however, based off current information, we know that FGT is passed down on the Shinigami side and not the Quincy side.
...
Ichigos WHOLE POWER SET HAS BEEN SHINIGAMI ABILITIES MADE INTO QUINCY STYLE POWER.
GT? Arrow shooting.
FGT? One-time huge powerup that takes awya your powers as a cost.
Power compression? same idea as power absorbtion as power is drawn inward.

Ichigo won't be over-powered after this.
Juha Bach and his white-haired companion are the ones that are over-powered, they split his bankai in half without even trying. This kind of power-up is a minimum if he's going to fight on equal terms.
With that said, is this enough? Old Zangetsu's reasons for holding Ichigo back are interesting... it's like the inner Juha Bach had the same hatred for shinigami as the real Juha Bach, as if not only Juha Bach's reiatsu was transferred to his descendants, but his memories as well.
And yet again, another small hint that Juha Bach has some control over his descendants. First he robs all the "halflings" of their strength (Ichigo's and Ishida's mothers) and then he manages to "summon" Ichigo... maybe Ishida is being mind-controlled as well. I wonder if Ichigo is capable of even fighting the real Juha Bach...
You are drawing wrong conclusions out of right narrative.
"Juha Zangetsu's" reasoning behind why he was holding Ichigo back made sense - all those personifications are still part of Ichigo's mind and psyche itself, still. So its only normal that ONE side of his personifications would display self-doubt we have seen in ichigo again again - the only question was which.
As for control? Nope. Its more likely a genetic memory thing - Ichigo subconsciously KNEW who Juha Bach was, so he interpreted him as enemy leader of quincies and homed in to him to fight him. Its not something Bach decided to just do, its something Ichigo did without realizing why.
This does raise a question - will Ichigo slowly gain memories of how the war started, as his quincy powers progress integrating into his power set? could there be something in them to change his opinion over some things? Could he find out the REAL reason for this war that way?I'm not confident about my theory of Juha having control over Ichigo and "Juha Zangetsu"... but fact remains that in their first fight, Juha Bach seemed pretty sure that he'd able to revive Ichigo after that first slash to the neck and turn him over to his own army.
I agree that the war memories could come from within though, and that those could slightly change his perspective. The first fight with Juha Bach was also the point were many of Ichigo's quincy memories awakened. I'm guessing that Ichigo will first need to fight more high-level quincies if he wants all those memories of war to surface...
The real reason behind the war (probably something about the soul king) could be important... but he didn't stop to listen to what Aizen had to say, he won't stop now either, not after that story his father told him. I doubt those memories alone will sway him, he looks pretty determined about taking down the man that caused his mother's death.
Well frankly, LISTENING To someone is one thing, experiencing it is another.
Also he WAS shaken up by Aizen soul king rant. Urahara even noticed that.
