If you think about it, Kenpachi's story is pretty similar to Superman's

His parents put him in a space pod to save him from impending doom on his home planet, crash landed on Earth, was adopted by country folk and grew up to be a part-time business man and hero?

:P

No the part where he put mental shackles on himself since childhood to prevent his true powers to exceed his whims

That actually sounds like Hercules too.(At least the Disney movie... To an extent.)

These overpowered heroes have it rough..

I thought that the Hercules in the Disney movie lost his powers because he drank a magic potion that took away his Godly hood o.o

Yeah, but it kept his super strength. Early on though he mentally put himself down to not use his powers and tried staying away(until all that other hoo-ha started) since all he did was make trouble.

Well, I guess the difference is one being mental shackles and other is 'you're nothing, but a troublesome sack of  shit!' state of mind.

Edit: I love how we went from Bleach to Superman to Disney movies. x)

So aren't Zanpakuto given when they join the 13 squads? He's had that same sword since a kid, so this means he doesn't actually have a Zan or did he manage to shank a low ranking Shinigami for it before he managed to release any sort of power from it so it was just a plain one?

Kubo always brings out some sort of stupid crap to save him and give him the victory.

Actually I believe that this rule applies to most shounen mangas.

The thing that really intrigues me about this whole fight is this specific kind of relationship Unohana and Kenpachi share. Zaraki killed many people searching for someone worth fighting against, he didn't hesitate to kill Ichigo or Nnoitra but in the flashback we can see Unohana losing to young Zaraki. So why didn't he just kill her and search for another, more powerful foe? Why did he chose to restrain his powers, so he could enjoy fighting Unohana more?

It's pretty obvious that Unohana is fascinated by Kenpachi's power and fighting spirit, as she looks at him with those clean, pretty eyes. Maybe calling it "love" may be pushing analysis a little bit too far, but that's just the feeling I get.

So Zaraki needs to become a super saiyan again? Well atleast there's a plausible explanation for his power.

Kenpachi basically was the strongest and needs to get back on top.
