Bleach Chapter 518 Discussion

Wow that was a nice chap! All 3 chaps of the big 3 were good this week.

I really wonder how Ginjou and the clock guy are there? Did they die and go to soul society becoming Shinigami? Or they didn't actually die and we were trolled?

But if it was the former then why is Tsukushima there? He didn't die right?

Can't wait for Ichigo's new sword...also Grimmjow?!?!

why can't kubo just show grimmjow...hes such a fucking troll its not even funny. Other than that as weird as it feels to say this...this was a really good chapter of bleach. For any others like me that expected the full bringers were throw aways that would never be mentioned again we were very very wrong. Its also nice to see the shiba siblings back. For once in a long time the world of bleach seems like a single cohesive entity instead of just a bunch of unrelated characters and locations that rarely interact with one another.

Bringing back characters that were killed in the last arc? Check.

Who died?

Oh right this bunch of people that hadn't any credible confirmation of their death but that you marked as dead.

Ginjou's "death" was shady as fuck.

We never saw what moved him to do what he did and we never had any information on that matter except that "he stopped to trust SS". We did not have one single flashback about him except from Tsukishima's side and Ginjou wasn't the focus at all.

We never saw any body and SS never agreed to give Ichigo Ginjou's body let alone let Ichigo witness it.

A lot of people expected him to be alive and it was written as such, especially as it's Bleach and no character whatsoever will ever die before getting a flashback.

But right, you understood it as he died so it's Kubo bringing out a dead character.

Tsukishima never died, he was wounded but he survived on.

I guess you misinterpreted the scene where Riruka forgot about him?

Giriko control time and you expected him to go down without even using any time related power in battle? With his power it'll be easy as fuck to set a timer so that if his body get destroyed in the next hour, it'll get restored the next day. His power were explained much before he was "killed", I (and a lot of other people) never took him being cutted down seriously.

Rather than bringing back dead character it's more like he's bringing back people which death weren't sure.

Anyway here's my guess after reading this chapter:

Bach is Ichigo's grandfather from Masaki's side.

Isshin is Kuukaku's uncle which make Ichigo cousin to Kuukaku, Ganju and Kaien.

Isshin should have been the one to take upon the Shiba house but because he got himself involved with Masaki, it was seen as a disgrace and the house 'fallen'.

Ryuuken is Bach's descendant, so is Ishida.

A long time ago Bach had a child. This child created the lineage we now knows as the Uryuu family. Only a few decades ago did Bach had another child: Masaki

I wouldn't be surprised if one of those 'magic hunters' that were mentionned in the past was Bach.

Something have been bugging me though: Grandfisher.

He wasn't strong but he had something hollow do not have : A will.

I wonder if there's not any hidden reason as to why Masaki died.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kubo brings up the incident about Grand Fisher in the future. I wonder if Aizen knows about Ichigo's lineage too.

It would be funny if Aizen planned all of this so Ichigo could become strong enough to kill Bach or the Spirit King, lmao.

Hm, I just realized something....

Could Ganju actually be a fullbringer too? Remember the certain ability he was adept at using that was something only he could use.

If Ganju is a fullbringer that would also explain why Ichigo is one.

I'd say it's a bit early to really say anything like that although it is a possibility.

Considering Ganju was hanging around all the fullbringers he may have some sort of connection with them we don't know about. We won't be learning this for AWHILE though, so it's really only speculation.

- Anyone who is not human(as in arrancars, pureblood quincies).

Aren't you always saying that quincies are not a race but a teaching?

Quincies are a clan with teachings, but that does not mean that the teaching can't CHANGE them into something more than a human.

Are Jedi and Sith just humans?  or are they something more?

Quincies are humans, but what they do with their teachings can clearly affect them, change how the environment reacts to them - Bach lived for thousand years or more for example. So while they are human spirits and these are just teachings, indulging in them could change them at fundamental level. We know it affects their physiology - we know that quincies CAN have hereditary abilities that possibly manifest after generations upon generations "indulging" in the teachings.  We also know that quincies can be both pluses, arrancar, real life alive humans or anyone who has spiritual power.

Maybe its because of above(as in because of the techniques they chose to employ changing them), maybe its because of where they died(being killed in spirit form in SS), but you do not see dead quincies walking around in rukongai do you?

Also while quincies are teachings we do not know on if everyone of them are humans with teachings - some of them, like Bach, could have been actual pure-bloods, magic hunters, etc. The teachings have to come from somewhere.

Good to see Kubo utilizing the basic concept of his world by bringing Ginjou, Tsukishima, and Hulk to SS after dying, pretty amazing I'd say. Ganjou looks BA now.

That guy is obviously Grimmjow, he probably turned into a Vasto Lorde, he was suffering for a very long time to become one afterall.

The chapter overall was simply amazing and really well done, I'm really excited for the future chapters more now.

Yes and no. When he fought the captains, Yamamoto yes he was using shikai but when he fought Ichigo,Isshin, Urahara he already began transforming and they all lived. Hell Ichigo went one on one with Aizen in his last from and walked away like nothing happened so it just seems like a huge slap in the face to Gin to get the one hit kill while everyone else walks away from it. Sure Gin wasn't at the same level as Ichigo but he certainly wasn't some weakling who could be killed that easily i mean for the longest time he toyed with Ichigo and the others so it just seems like a crappy write off. But ya why we are suddenly digging up old characters and just inserting them randomly makes no sense however i fell like if we can have these nobodies come back there should be some small hope to see Gin again. Man i would LMFAO if Gin showed up in the royal palace and was just being tended to since the Aizen fight that would be the supreme troll moveBut still, the level he was in when he killed Gin isn't the same one as when he defeated the 3 others, not to mention that Gin was a kid when Aizen trolled everyone, so his level is way below the other 3. If Gin appeared in the Royal Palace I'd be really happy :P, since since his appearance in SS he was my favorite character in the whole series, and out of all the characters Kubo killed him...

Another interesting thing is seeing Gin as a reincarnated 2 year-old kid in the real world at the end of the series.

Hmmm im either misunderstanding something or your mixing up the time lines. When Gin was a kid he got brought into SS and became somewhat of a prodigy as the youngest who ever "graduated", during that time Aizen  wasn't even a captain yet and Ichgio wasn't even known about and Urahara just made captain rank. Years later Ichigo comes along but by that point Gin had grown up under Aizen and clearly was more powerful then most others in SS and had several times played around with Ichigo never really taking those fights seriously. MY problem is Gin was watching Ichigo and knew how powerful he was yet Gin never even used his true bankai against him and still thrashed him pretty easily. Think back to the last time the two fought Gin beat him down to the point he stopped to tell a story and told him he was disappointed in Ichigo's abilities so while sure he isn't Azien level i would put him among the top level members in SS. The real problem is nobody knows just how strong Gin was because he never really got any fights in and it was never really mentioned short of calling him a prodigy similar to byakuya so that was massively disappointing.

Im still hoping for the royal palace pop that would be amazing especially if it was like last page nothing but the Gin face and something similar to "did you really think i died back then". Not to mention i still want to see where the rangiku/gin story was going i mean clearly there was love between the two and they knew each other since they were kids but that story got cut really short. Not sure how i would feel about resurrected kid gin unless there was something that let you know clearly that it was Gin.
