You are wrong on this one. He got sliced in half and the got shot by a barrage of Quincy arrows that turnd him to dust. His body is not "missing" for the reader, it's missing for the rest of his soldiers who wren't present during his death

this.

It was even mentioned that quincies most likely destroyed it.

Its not "He might come back" type of narrative.

Its "he is never ever ever ever ever coming back" type of narrative.

As for Byakuya the more I think the more I think it fits him..

Remember his introduction in the manga? Byakuya destroyed Ichigo's sword, taunted him on how he is now no longer able to do anything and not worthy of being called a shinigami.

Where is Byakuya now? In exact same position. In terms of Irony it fits and provides nice chance of Angst for both Renji and Rukia.

Not to mention that since all WW1/WW2 parallels its quite realistic to get a narrative style of "crippled war survivor" in terms of Byakuya

EDIT:

Also I am smelling danger from HM plotline now. The fact that Urahara could not contact them directly implies foul play.  Would be hilarious Kubo revealed them all having died there and RG just sending a fake message(although i doubt it would happen that way).

With all seriousness, Urahara most likely has been captured and we are about to get some three-way conflict.

I like the whole "can't find the captain commanders body" thing. Its usually a sign that someone alive somehow, if byakuya and kenpachi were dead, hell at least one of them was I wouldn't be a skeptic of everything going on. The whole epicness of the  fight and the deaths kind of just went away

I didn't think Kenpachi would die but I expected Byakuya to be dead.

Hence my post about Kubo not showing enough.

I was actually in between about this whole tactics thing, didn't really remember that explosion and you are most definetely right, though cutting the head of the general isn't really copying, it's a tactic that forced many armies to retreat (back when things like generals existed at least). Nonetheless you are right maybe he should have shown a party of war-medics being decimated while most are gathered in one building, BUT there is still one more arguement. WAAAY way back when Hanataro first appeared he made cear that almost none of the medic unit use Zanpakutou, with the exception of captain and vice-captain. So basically, there is no war-medic unit. And what's the point of Unohana going on her own? Isn't she supposed to be a leader first and foremost? How can she be a leader when she abandonds her group?

@Fai

Oh boy, I really don't want to take part in comparisons but..anyway, let's get on with it.

Ichigo's situation isn't particularly more tangible for simple reasons, he is absolutely everything, which makes his existance a problem for the series itself. Yes he is placed in an unlikely position, but the way he is, is absolutely bad and highly predictable. Everyone chases him for his powers (visard/fb/quincy) and everyone admires him for some feats, that are also based on said powers. E.g. when he appeared in FKT to defeat Aizen, the only reason everyone put their hopes on him was because he was not a slave to Kyoka Suigetsu, not because of personality or feats. It was only later in FB arc that he was actually acknowledged properly (when Yamaji sent all those people to help him). Most of these stuff are not bad by themselves, but they seem very badly told. Ichigo's path is generally defined by how many people acknowledge him and assist him , which though not particularly original is a nice concept badly told, cuz never did Kubo dedicated any chapters to portray the slow change of mentality in SS, like focusing on characters's emotions/inner thoughts/behaviour towards Ichigo. In short to my eyes SS accepting Ichigo is something that was logical to happen but it was badly told, and because I'm a reader who prefers characters over a plot (not in an absolute proportion) I felt disappointed, even more so since Bleach's plot was a one-way path up till now.

I'm more than happy to analyse Bleach as much as you want but I don't wanna get involved with analysing Naruto in this thread, please understand
