Bleach Chapter 488 Discussion

This chapter could have used a little more development. All we really got out of this was finding out the enemy are Quincy, which most people had already found out, and more power hype. I'm still holding out hope for this last arc, but I'm not very impressed so far.

These is what I saw: 10 pages They are strong as beasts and 1 page they are dead and two pages Angry people.

Ooh boy, Yamamoto is raging hard. And Quincy? So they somehow were able to make Arrancars with Quincy powers?



quincy "power" is a teaching the quincies we knew "were taught" by an old race of "magic hunters". quincies are not s much of a race, as much of  a religion.  Through the years their clan/cult became very proficient in those teachings, but theoretically ANYONE should be able to learn it, however it supposedly takes decadesThe question was never "do they have quincy-like powers?", it was pretty obvious that they did.



The question was "is this the same group that was supposedly destroyed in the last Quincy-war by the shingami?". THAT's what Mayuri seems to think.



We know very little of that last war, but I still think Mayuri's wrong. I think this new group is, as you described it, the predecessors of the Quincy arts. And that would mean that SS has misjudged the situation.



I don't think Mayuri would use the name "quincy" to describe the first magic hunters, "quincy" is only the left-overs of a much older power. And "quincy" would not accept arrancar in their ranks judging by Ishida's hatred for them.

Just like I stated already. The girls were brought back for the new guys to show off their power. But it's official, Kubo likes killing and torturing females. I should be glad he is not into NTR... for now... -_-'

Solid chapter. Could have used a stronger ending. Have to say, the art is crazy good right now 0_0



Mostly, I was expecting Sexta Espada. Maybe next time.

I like Sungsun but damn, I wanted the Three Beasts dead a loooooooong time ago. Can't wait to see Ichigo and this Captain dude fight it off. 8D

So did quincy recruit regular people?

I'm still amazed by how little content Kubo is able to include in a whole chapter... 3-panel pages consistently, rather dull and predictable dialogue, and not much action (but a few good shots of what happened after the action...) ahh mann..



well, at least the Quincy theory is confirmed... rather anticlimactically... I wonder how they're connected to this King-of-the-universe dude... Knowing Ishida's character, it shouldn't affect him or his relationship with the others, but it might cause problems with his dad... I wanna see more of Ichigo's dad. There are still too many questions about him we need answered.

Man, that's something I still can't forgive Kubo for... Remember all that drama that happened when Ichigo lost his powers, when he fought Zangetsu, and young Zangetsu, and they cried?! And suddenly he get's he powers back, I mean, we'd expect some sort of emotional reunion, or at least a not in Zangetu's general direction... How long has it been since we've even heard the name "Zangetsu?" Did you guys forget that that was Ichigo's sword's name?!? Kubo, did you??!? Zangetsu is the most important part of Ichigo!!! the hellllll!! And I miss white/hollow Ichigo also, I wanna see him again too... I'm sure he's still there too...

Make it happen Kubo. Lulz... as much as I hate Aizen, I kinda would like to see him come back... ah, am I feeling nostalgic for the times when I actually enjoyed Bleach??
