In any case, the power meter in Bleach can increase and decrease by 9000% over the course of two chapters so it's not worth it keeping a track of it. Zaraki Kenpachi got cut by Ichigo before he even got a bankai (which I find to be a much more annoying power inconsistency, don't care if Zaraki has been training with Yamamoto since then...)

totally agree. Zaraki's power level seems to fluctuate with every fight he's in.

Not really.

Ichigo always had a very huge ammount of reiatsu to his disposal, he just didn't knew how to use it properly.

Against Zaraki, Ichigo lent his power to Zangetsu which used it to defeat Zaraki. That's where Ichigo also learned the importance of a strong bond between a zanpakutou and a shinigami.

Many seem to think that Ichigo 'became stronger' in the serie when he did not. He simply learned to master and access power he already had ever since the start and that until Aizen's defeat. Now that he reached his full potential he will probably have to push his limit further.

Sorry but your argument is full of shit because the same Ichigo that knocked down the guy in one punch had to fight like crazy and get hurt all over to beat Byakuya immediately after that.

If he was so superior why didn't he one shot Byakuya too?

Also considering this guy reached bankai before some of the oldest captains then he is presented as actually having being probably stronger than most of the captains so it should have been harder to defeat this guy in one move than defeating Byakuya.

When Ichigo first used Bankai he was totally trashing Byakuya, literaly playing with him to make him swallow that pride that was stopping him from rescuing his sister.

When Byakuya used Senkei (Or however it is spelled) Ichigo thought that Byakuya had gotten faster but in reality it was himself that had gotten much slower and weaker to the point that Byakuya could actually fight him, then he weakened until Byakuya was stronger than him.

This was a display of Ichigo's lack of stamina especially since he rushed there right after fighting to master his Bankai. At that point, if Ichigo had the time to recover, he could have trashed about every captain like they were babies except the big four.

Then he received his combat pass which served as a limiter and made his reiatsu unstable.

Ukitake clearly said that Ichigo had captain reiatsu when he was in shikai and before he actually got bankai.

I don't know if you took these words like I did but captain reiatsu isn't something to belittle.

Shinigami trains, become higer placed in the gotei 13 and some rare of them have the chance to become captain. This is something progressive and their reiatsu just doesn't change to 'captain level' because they got promotted. Captain reiatsu is something captains takes years to develop and doesn't especially have when they are first named captains. To be aknowledged in term of power as a captain level while being in shikai alone from one of the top four is a gage of strenght.

Sakakibe was said to be strong but I doubt that he was stronger than a mid level captain since he has lower fighting experience than most captains. Like it was said he also didn't wished to fight and bring his bankai. He was knocked down, not beated, not killed.

At that point we weren't shown anything about Sakakibe, he was knocked down. Naturally everyone assumed that he was weak but there's no point from evaluating his strenght from that moment alone as he hadn't the time to shown anything because of Ichigo's strengh and speed which were much stronger than most captains.

Power fluctuations. As Ulquiorra noted, Ichigo's reiatsu was jumping around like crazy from the lowest point to the stronger than Ulquiorra point due to his "hollow side" messing stuff up.  He did not get a stable reiatsu till jinzen, when he unified all his power sources into one.

Notice how Hichigo was owning Byakuya effortlessly? its not a powerboost, that reiatsu did not come out of nowhere. Ichigo was just unable to consistently use it due to interferences.

Preche oh how I've missed your antics

Sometimes it makes me wonder why was Sasakibe was owned by ichigo back in the soul society arc when Sasakibe can use bankai...

Because Ichigo has more than 2xcaptain reiatsu, remember?

Pre-jinzen if his reiatsu was not fluctuating, Ichigo only woul dhave problems wtih top four, unohana, ukitake, shunsui and yamamoto.

Oh come on.. he just hit him bare handed and knocked him out. You call it 2xCaptain power? He didn't even used his Shikai. Although He used his bankai and hollow powers against Byakuya but he was standing there after getting slashed up and  got away after his bankai sword disappeared. Does that mean Byakuya is on the captain commander level? nah.. that would make Ichigo 2xCommander level.

This is the guy who not even at full power trashed ulquiorra, who was close in  power to the other three(since the top four were VLs are quite close in terms of strength) and the likes of stark or halibel would play around with non-senior captains as if with toys, to the point that they had to be taken out through incredibly haxx abilities.

So no its not surprising that Ichigo at full resolve during surprise entrance, would knock out one of more stronger captain level shinigami.

You're saying Ichigo trashed Ulquiorra, not even at full power? O__o

Ulquiorra himself said that Ichigo as his top of fluctuations is far above him in power.

SHikai and Bankai DOES NOT increase your reiatsu unless you are Ichigo, since Ichigo's bankai is based on speed and power increase.

Ichigo was a monster, with a whole lot more reiatsu, more than Ulquiorra. Do you have any doubt that Ulquiorra could give a fair fight to most of captains, with exception of power four and stomp the weaker ones?

And yes, Ichigo, in his ichigonator form, which is far inferior to his united reiatsu of post jinzen, casually trashed ulquiorra.

Ichigo's potential has always been HUGE. THe problem was that he was basically an undergrad dropout in terms of shinigami arts. Once he got ahold of the power he became more powerful than aizen or yamamoto.

The fac thtat there's something seriously wrong and special and unique aobut Ichigo, his birth and powers, has always been the point of bleach, ever since the first chapter.

Liked the chapter, but is anyone else worried that Bleach has seemingly shifted from 19 to 17 pages? Its slow enough paced already.

I liked it. I hope that when Bleach stops Kubo will draw hentai and nothing but...

Is it just me or the pace is kinda quick this time? I mean pages 11&13. First time in history of manga all the problems except battles were solved in 2 pages. He's probably making up for the fact that the last few chapters had close to nothing in them... unfortunately... UR DOING IT WRONG... =.=

So Sasakibe had Bankai before Ukitake and Kyoraku, yet he gets oneshotted by freshman Ichigo.

We knew about that since MASKED databook which outright stated that Sasakibe is captain-class shinigami. Thats two years ago.

First of all, who cares about a fucking databook? That's just some bonus information in there. A series should be enjoyable without having to read some supplementary info. And above all else it should be able to give characterdevelopment on its own.

Besides, that's STILL nothing else but telling us without actually bothering to show it.

And even then it still doesn't change the fact that no reader ever had any connection to this guy. We simply don't give a damn about him dying. Personally I very much prefer not killing anyone off (as it was until now) instead of doing it when there is no emotion involved. As of now it seems like Kubo did that just for the sake of doing it. And that's just bad.

It MIGHT become important to the plot later, that Sasakibe got killed. But I doubt it. I assume that it was just a lame ass way to introduce the new menacing enemy, showing that they are so much more of a threat than any other enemy up until now.
