Eva was out of the picture from before he hit kaede so it is possible that she had time to prepare. Also about that hit, she just stood up as if it was a small scratch; that itself is weird too if you think about it. However, i completely agree but i rather not get hung up on this tiny mistake on the mangaka's part. Could also be he isn't using his full powers for some reason.



So Negi isn't going to be human any longer. I wonder what that exactly means. I thought Eva said he would be like an animal? I somehow see losing your mind being very counter-productive.

Finally the time for Negi to overcome his dark powers.



We can also assume that both Kaede and Setsuna will become stronger after this. Now I want to know how this will turn out in the end.

I know what you mean but this is not a real life situation, you can't bring physic in a manga where people can fly, teleport and spam blast able to destroy a small village.

Anyways lets continue =). I think you're over estimating the AOE range and effects of his spell though. I really don't think it acts as a bomb. It's a condensed version of the thousand bolts which is 1000 lightening bolts "striking" an area like 1000 really fast swords piercing down into the target.



His condensed version "stabs" a target following a focused zap. The AOE side effects is just a bit of extra cracking thunder created from the zap. The AOE range is not that huge otherwise Negi and the audience in the stadium where he used it first time would have been pancakes.

Yeah I think this was rushed but at the same time the character does not have one second to lose anymore.



I think that it was ridiculous that Eva just blocked Negi's spear like that without even using Magia erebea, I mean that was a move that could delete almost every character even more when Negi is in this state. I know that Eva is strong but blocking it that easely is pushing it imo.



Anyway Kaede and Setsuna have also grown much, at the start of this arc they wouldn't even have dreamed to last three second against Negi in this state.



My guess is that Negi will beat everyone but will manage to control himself before giving the finishing blow to one of his friend.

Just because she STOPPED the attack doesn't mean she ABSORBED the attack.

Well I don't consider this Eva 'Eva' since she is only an illusionary being living in the Magia Erebea scroll.

That is not the point. Negi stated in the fight that Rakan was dodging some of his attack because it could damage him, that was one of the motivation that lead him to continue the fight. The spear is Negi's strongest spell, which mean that Rakan needed to dodge or block it otherwise he would have taken the blow hard, well in the case of Rakan he would just have loled with the spear going through him and would have acted as if nothing happened but that's not the point.



Negi should have been stronger now, way stronger and Eva just step in stoping the spear like nothing happened, if you remember in the Rakan vs Negi fight the spear was an AOE spell and it broke the barrier of the arena, I still wonder why Setsuna and Kaede are still up since it was clear that they were near where the spear hitted.



Eva is strong but stopping the spear like that is ridiculous, if she would have came in magia erebea form with a spell rivalising Negi's then it would have made way much sense.



I'm in no way saying that Eva > Negi but this time it was simply ridiculous, it's like she canceled the spear with a single slash with almost no power since she didn't chanted anything or accumulated power (Rakan being able to bring his full power in 5 second was something suposely god-like) Eva had 0 second preparation, she just instant movement-ed and slashed the blast away.
