(err, can Roy use alchemy without gloves now?)

I was wondering about that too?

I would imagine given everything that has happened already that he no longer needs equivalent exchange either.

Technically.. he should be able to transmute without the gloves now..

But wait a sec, equivalent exchange is still in effect, right? I mean, that's always there unless you have a philosopher's stone

Ed and Isumi can transmute without the exchange. Since Roy went though the gate, he should have the same rules applying to him.

I think we all agree Hiromu Akawa is a fucking genius.

Despite the depressing change of events, she never ever ever messed up one chapter in the whole goddamn series. You gotta praise the guy, all her villains got a fucking background. And all her characters are awesome. I've never seen this before. How can she think of so many things at once? (And thank god it's not the main-character-glory type of shounen, everyone gets their part with some sort of intelligent deep reason). And characters keep dying reasonably when you least expect it (that's awesome :) I like to be surprised and not see everyone surviving with a deus ex effect, getting out unscathed) Shit, this is just genius. I couldn't expect more of her.

And mustang going blind, that was just powerful. Hands down.

It takes a special kind of storyteller to give you something that's totally shocking and yet makes complete sense in retrospect.  Arakawa has done that -many- times in this series.

There was so much WIN in this chapter it can't be quantified, so I won't even try.  Great stuff this was.  Looking forward to Pride getting his comeuppance though, little bastard.

(err, can Roy use alchemy without gloves now?)Roy shouldn't be using his flame alchemy because he can't see where to pinpoint his flames. That could be very dangerous and harm others in the vicinity.

In general though; not just Flame Alchemy, he should be able to. (though knowing Roy, he'd try to find a way to still use alchemy even being blind. He's not a weak character)

Goddamn, Roy... I was expecting -something- to happen to him, but not expecting him to go -blind- after crossing the gate...  Hiromu Arakawa is a genius.

Al sees his nekkid, skinny body, and rejects it to better fight Father.  Al, you bighearted idiot.  So brave and yet, you going back gave Father exactly what he wanted...

no they cant....you need a philosophers stone for that....thats why ed and al were seeking it to get their bodies back.....if they didnt have the exchange requirement they would've just done it themselves lol

Ah, I see the mistake.

Let me rephrase.

Ed can do Alchemy without a circle.

So Roy should be able to now just snap his finger without need of the gloves.

Just a thought...
