Ah, right. So Riza's back tattoo is the secret to his dad's fire alchemy I think.

Weird they didn't reveal that in Brotherhood at the same time. It's far later.



This was probably included in the 2003 version anime though, I don't remember.

This is just horrifying. And while the actual reason in the story is technically different, the parallel to the real world is scary. The large militaries of our world would not hesitate to use alchemy in the same way Amestrks is to oppress weaker states. No one benefits from these wars except for the governments of the winning side. Everyone else, involved or not, loses.

I love these backstory chapters, I think they are great to better understand a story!

He couldn't be talking about the homunculus right? I mean if he came across something discussing them then that would be pretty fail on there part.

Great chapter. Armstrong really isn't fit for military life. Funny how Mustang predicted Hughes' death.
