Machi felt totally out of character though.

It seems a bit out of character for him to do this. Right after surviving a near death experience... Then suddenly go on a killing spree!

I guess he has a plan... Or several. I hope. Maybe.

No Hisoka shower scene? He's reeking!

I thought he just took advantage of the fact those spiders were currently easy pray because they were without their abilities.

Also i guess he wants to kill them as to limit Chrollo's ability to get powers.

Well I wasn't convinced of how Hisoka came back to life.

But after doing some research, I have to believe the fact that it is possible, even though the chance is very little. There has to be one huge condition to it, which is that it's only possible upto a certain time after death.

IN 1986, A two-and-a-half year-old girl named Michelle Funk fell into a stream and drowned. By the time paramedics found her, she hadn’t been breathing for more than an hour. Her heart was stopped. In other words, she was dead. Somewhat inexplicably, the paramedics continued to work on her, and so did doctors in the emergency room. Then, three hours after she died, Michelle Funk took a breath and her heart fluttered back into action. The above also answers the other doubt in my mind about why Hisoka wasn't reborn as a puppet. Why did he have his consciousness? It's because his nen stimulated his heart beat after death.

And my last question was that why was Hisoka seeking vengeance right after being revived?

Sometimes death can reinforce an ability's strength. If someone dies holding a deep grudge, their Nen will remain and seek out the object of hatred But there's a plothole in this theory as well. If Hisoka is indeed conscious and not being controlled by the will of his Nen, why is he still seeking vengeance?

Not vengeance just improving his chances as i see it(along with having fun because his a murderous bastard that enjoys killing people). For example now that he killed those two their nen will disappear and Chrollo won't be able to use the tactic he used to win against him this time.

Damn I now remember that doujinshi where Hisoka Raped Machi :D :D

It makes sense now, well he did not kill her ;P

He killed Sharlnak and Kortopi , it's due to their abilities he lost against Chrollo.

Hisoka Have a plan ;

Chrollo is going to the dark continent....Hisoka might Allie with Kurapika again

this should be interesting

It seems there are some misunderstandings.

First, it wasn't a vow like Gon's.

It wasn't granted to him; Hisoka did die, but died with a great wish to live. So on the brink of death he prays to his bungee gum to become stronger through death and massage his heart and lungs. He just had that strong wish and gave that command to his nen. But that was just a huge bet if his wish weren't great enough, or he wasn't in a condition to get revived through heart massage he would still be dead.

It's totally conforming with the way nen stronger through death works in the series, that's why he didn't got any drawbacks. He was just smart to use his own nen to revive himself.

Second, he didn't get healed.

He just put a "makeup" to his injuries with his Bungee Gum and Texture Surprise like he always did in the manga. He really never "recreated" a limb before, but remember that his nen got stronger so he has better control of his Bungee Gum now.

That makes it even dumber, fuck nen vows my Bungee Gum can make me stronger without me having any drawbacks..... Really?

Not Bungee Gum but death made his nen stronger because of his wish. It so happens that Bungee Gum can contract and expand so it can work to revive somebody through heart massage.

The Chimera Ants had ridiculously powerful Nen without any vows. Hisoka's Nen got stronger after dying. Or do you expect a drawback from Nen from a dead person who is now undead?

Chimera ants are completely different case tho, their whole biology is different then human ones and even with those extremely powerful nen aura they could still be killed and you know.....actually stay dead...... Pitou is probably something like 5 times if not even more stronger than Hisoka and the best she could do is after dying to make the puppet move her corpse, but here we have Hisoka doing gods work.

Pitou's wish was to kill Gon that's why he activated Terpsichora after death.

He could have activated Doctor Blythe and get revived (or actually not because he got his head exploded, so he would just become a puppet) but obviously Gon wouldn't wait for that.

All this "massaging back to life" is all good and all but how is everybody ignoring the time frame in which that was done. Bungee Gum clearly didn't keep massaging it only started it after they moved him to a hotel room which lets be real probably takes time..... and it wasn't only a heart massage but even a lung massage?

Now that's a different issue. Brain death can occur in less than 10 minutes and even being quick wouldn't save someone from brain damage. Even so, there's not really a way to know the time frame. The place they are in looks like a gym locker room, so I would say they are still inside Heavens Arena. And everybody know these guys are quick with their business, so it doesn't look too far fetched to me he got revived in less than 10 minutes.

What I really want to clarify is that Bungee Gum by itself hasn't any property to revive someone, nor is it some almighty ability, just that it can do CPR. lol

Never thought Togashi would pull such a big ass pull like this...They were already a lot of "asspulls" similar to this in the series, but for some reason they were accepted...

I love how seemingly only plot armored characters know of this nen becoming stronger after death, because seems like no one else is able to use it in any way. But when a main character needs to ass pull some power, let's go bro, let's put conditions and shit because fucking every other character.

I have been reading a lot of comments that have been deeming the latest chapter as an "asspull" because of Hisoka's revival and his murdering of two Phantom Troupe members within 3 pages. I admit, the way he was revived was kind of ridiculous to be considered canon, but the rest wasn't an asspull IMO. Shalnark and Kortopi was both killed because they didn't have their Nen abilities, which renders them useless, and Hisoka knew this so it was only logical that he will go immediately after them. I mean, we don't really expect Shalnark, especially Kortopi, to put up a fight against Hisoka. Shame, I liked Shalnark character though.

Togashi had probably planned this deathmatch of Chrollo and Hisoka to end this way from the very beginning (Hisoka escaping with death, and reviving later on) to introduce both of them in the spotlight towards the Dark Continent Arc. (The reason why their deathmatch suddenly appeared out of nowhere, it wasn't a fan service after all)

Surely Togashi decided that he would have to include Hisoka to be once and for all a useful character (plot wise) that had been really foreshadowed for too long since the beginning. This was why I doubted he will die. We will be, most likely, seeing more Hisoka on the chapters. I have a strong feeling Kurapika will be involved with him, since they both have one goal from now on. So not an asspull really, in fact, it created openings for more interesting plots.

I was surprised he didn't kill Machi on the spot though. He only incapacitated her, which very much says that he somehow.... feels something for her. [SHIPPING ENSUES]

Amazing chapter nonetheless. Togashi pulling a "Didn't expect that, it was far from our theories" chapter.

It was just a cheap set up for what is seeming to me his revenge, so much unlike Hisoka. What did the Spiders even do to him lol.

You should realize this part is very obvious, his first spider kill was the ability Chrollo used. I don't think he has anything against the spiders personally but Chrollo can use there powers because they're alive. He kills them and there goes a lot of Chrollos copy potential.
