Fairy Tail Chapter 506 Discussion

I'm still cringing on how terribly forced Erza's intrusion of the battle is. Just an awful character. The fight was running in smoothly, looked awesome, and easily one of the best of the arc, and was very hyped.

Acnologia fearing END is bullshit, and is an assumption made by characters. Feat wise, Acnologia shits on END. Btw, the fight with Dimaria was off-panel so we don't know END bypassed time travel, and the fact is Dimaria's time age seal hasn't done shit to top tiers.



Gray standing a chance against END is legit. He stomped Base Marde (the same fucker who was babyshaking LFD Natsu/Yaio Twins)  proving how slaying advantage is massive against characters above you, and should be logically a lot stronger now, so it makes sense why he's holding his own against END.



So yea we should all admit Gray fighting on par with END MAKES SENSE. Especially considering how many times Gray has fought the fucker and knows his habits.



All you're fanboying on END's fanboy hype too hard here.

What I don't get is:

Cheria stomps Dimaria: Totally legit because God Slayer

Gray matches (not even beats, matches) E.N.D.: Complete asspull



Like...what?



Godslayers have proper hype and we saw them be strong and Dimaria is a nobody spriggan fodder whoa ll have been disappointing. And people did complain about that fight too.



END Is an endgame hyped up Zeref's ultimate demon supposedly stronger than Tartaros, strong enough for Acnologia to feel its a threat, strong enough to rival and kill Zeref and so on.

Gray is what? An FT member who can do some ice tricks and who without his father's convenient asspull power-up demon slayer gift should not even be threat to Lucy/Erza/Mira/Wendy/Gajeel/etc let alone the supposedly strongest creation of Zeref.



Dimaria fight and most of spriggan fights were bullshit. But this like bullshit^squared. Hell this fight should not even be happening in the first place, since the only reason it is happening is because Mashima felt it fitting to have Gray act dumb and stand in the way of the only thing capable of killing Zeref.



In a world of good writing - Gray's role at most would be about getting knocked out by a single punch, while we focus on LUCY(aka the actual  heroine of the manga) trying to bring Natsu back

In world of MASHIMA writing we instead got a rehash of that shitty avatar arc scene but with even more Gray-wanking. And with some Erza wank on top of that.

Next chapter, Erza's hair falls off, and she requips into a yellow jumpsuit with a white cape and red gloves and boots.



I think, Erza is potentially more powerful than Eileen, Eileen doesn't like that, that's why she left Erza in the first place/wants Erza dead.

You have to be completely blind and wearing some really thick goggles, if you're actually implying that END "overwhelmed" Gray there. It was an even fight through and through.

Natsu would pretty much be dead if it wasn't for Gray, considering if he did kill Zeref, Natsu dies.

I am sorry, should I have been moved by Makarov's supposed death? Should I have cried or applauded?



Because all I did was laugh.

Because Makarov dodged a certain death that could have been emotional and make sense gazillions of times and this one is just anticlimatic and random.

Because Makarov has been absolutely irrelevant for hundreds of chapters already.

Because with how many asspull revivals this arc had I simply don't care here and expect him to be fine eventually.

Because far superior death scenes like Juvia or Gajeel got undone on a blink of an eye.



He could have died against Acnologia, he could have been oneshotted by Zeref at the start of this arc and it would have made sense and felt impactful. Here? Here it frankly feels like Mashima just randomly decided to "kill" him because everyone is complaining on how he does not kill anyone. And even now I am using "kill" in quotations because this is LOLMASHIMA and Makarov might just be fine next chapter.





What is depressing is that Mashima was perfectly fine at writing great character deaths in RAVE, which had impactful and interesting deaths and actual stakes. Here? Makarov's fate felt even more anticlimatic and irrelevant than anything.





Notice how I want to avoid talking about Gray/Natsu bullshit? Because it is even worse.



Not only Gray has enough asspull power to apparantly match a dude who moved through stopped time, but also we get a "Because she is erza!" moment in the end of the chapter. The most Gray should have been able to do is to land few hits in, in rage and then get oneshotted. But not only he somehow gets enough plot power to match Natsu, but also hey guyse! Erza is equal to END in power now I guess! She can randomly locate them on a whim and stop the fight between them as if it is nothing! Because she is Erza!  I guess she should just walk up to Zeref and stab him in the head, because she is erza too! She can even stand up to the supposeldy most powerful demon ever created and his asspull plot-rival as if it is nothing! Give me a break, Mashima.

For the last fucking time, Gray's DES is NOT an asspull.

Where are you getting this bullshit from?

He practically re-learned DeS magic on his own, prior to it being transferred to him. DeS is compatible to his own magic as shown in his battle with Doriate.

At best you can argue that it's convenient, but asspull? No it isn't.



Erza isn't END level considering all she did was block a punch that is clearly shown to effect her hands.

No one in the guild even knew that Mavis was alive. Makarov only knew about the Fairy Heart after becoming guild master. Mavis did nothing on Makarov's life till Grimoire Heart attack Tenrou Island, that's 80 years of doing nothing. The one did the raising was Precht, that's why he still calls Makarov brat even at his old age.



And Mavis did much? It's 3 actually it's only 2 things since she hasn't even done anything yet at the moment. Makarov did way more for his guild than Mavis ever did throughout her life.

Erza managed to stop them, amazing!

You didn't like the fight because you had some kind of massive expectation what END would be, and Mashima didn't deliver to your fangirling dreams. Got ya.



Neinhart is fodder,  tell me what his durability feats are.

Jacob is fodder durability.

Jacob could've destroyed Natsu at any time with his stealth mode. but lost to CIS/Plot induced stupidity.



Dimaria was practically off-paneled, we have no way of knowing what actually happened and she wasn't exactly using her god hax chronos mode.



That's rich dude, thanks for the laugh. If it wasn't for Gemma cheapshotting Gray out of nowhere Marde would be done in. Gemma interfered so Natsu can get more pathetic forced spotlight. Marde should've been soloed by Gray.



Natsu can thank his stars, Gray saved his ass three times in that arc.



Once Gray got serious in his blood lust mode, Invel was done for. with his usage of molding and combining for a unison. Gray had more trouble because he's fought a superior spriggan and you know an actual right hand man of Zeref. Something Dimaria, and Neinhart aren't for a reason.





This is a perfect example of what a diehard Natsu fan girl / Erza fangirl would say. . Based on your profile, you don't have the objecitivity to post rationally when you can't even be objective for your favourite characters. Stop posting.



Praise the queen? No I don't praise shit characters that somehow can leap conveiently out of nowhere.  

I like you didn't say anything about how END geting stopped by Erza.



Apparently it's okay for END to be stopped by a massively weakened Erza

but not okay for a devil slayer to fight on par with END despite having massive advantage.
