Fairy Tail Chapter 506 Discussion

Legit rolled my eyes when I see Erza intervene. Might have been not so bad of an idea theorically even if there were better ways to end the fight but Mashima's usual terrible execution reduces all of this to ashes.



+ Natsu and Gray actually screaming each others name. For fuck's sake.

Natsu's claw hands are cool. I still kinda wanna see him go full END and just destroy Gray and Erza though. Erza stopping them both killed the mood a bit. Enjoyable chapter though.

The only good parts about this chapter was Laxus consoling Mavis and Natsu and Gray's fight continuing. Natsu punching his hand in the ground and then plumes of flames hitting Gray several meters away was pretty epic.



I understand why Erza stopped them but come on, she popped up from nowhere when several pages back she was groveling on the floor in-front of Makarov.



Not only that, Natsu literally looks like he's back to normal (Which I know he's not because his hand keeps growing all scaly and black.)



2/5 for this week's chapter. 2.5/5 if some of you people go by point ratings.

Erza continues to be a cringeworthy unlikeable shit character.



Wanted Gray to destroy END/Natsu, that would've been awesome.



Cool ice attacks from Gray though.

Laxus' reaction was unrealistic imo.



Now I doubt we'll ever get a real Natsu vs Gray fight, since this one was a complete waste of time and underwhelming.



I still don't feel anything for Makarov's death, but I guess that is my problem.



Why couldn't have Fairy Law taken the Spriggans, too? 😐 And why are twelve still left?



Erza is shit.

sad thing though, due to mashima's fake deaths lately, Makarov might have actually died and I felt nothing.  



Sigh I've never been this disappointed, surely Mashima could have done a better job using erza to stop natsu and gray, cause honestly it was a good move and makes sense instead of having those cheesy shipping moment, but erza being injured and all stopping both of them at the same time with her barehands WTF?!! and not only that did she teleported or what?



I'am not gonna fully criticize this yet I'll wait until the next chapter to see how big the damage is. right now I'm only seeing a cracked and burned hands but I don't think that is enough. Sorry



On a positive note, Its good to see Laxus being all collected after his grandpas death, he really has what it takes to be the next guild master.

THIS END overrating is ridiculous. Where do people get that he's acnologia level and that Gray should stand no chance? LOL and how is END dragon level?



Acnologia fearing END is bullshit, and is an assumption made by characters. Feat wise, Acnologia shits on END. Btw, the fight with Dimaria was off-panel so we don't know END bypassed time travel, and the fact is Dimaria's time age seal hasn't done shit to top tiers.



Gray standing a chance against END is legit. He stomped Base Marde (the same fucker who was babyshaking LFD Natsu/Yaio Twins)  proving how slaying advantage is massive against characters above you, and should be logically a lot stronger now, so it makes sense why he's holding his own against END.



So yea we should all admit Gray fighting on par with END MAKES SENSE. Especially considering how many times Gray has fought the fucker and knows his habits.

What I don't get is:

Cheria stomps Dimaria: Totally legit because God Slayer

Gray matches (not even beats, matches) E.N.D.: Complete asspull



Like...what?



Godslayers have proper hype and we saw them be strong and Dimaria is a nobody spriggan fodder whoa ll have been disappointing. And people did complain about that fight too.



END Is an endgame hyped up Zeref's ultimate demon supposedly stronger than Tartaros, strong enough for Acnologia to feel its a threat, strong enough to rival and kill Zeref and so on.

Gray is what? An FT member who can do some ice tricks and who without his father's convenient asspull power-up demon slayer gift should not even be threat to Lucy/Erza/Mira/Wendy/Gajeel/etc let alone the supposedly strongest creation of Zeref.



Dimaria fight and most of spriggan fights were bullshit. But this like bullshit^squared. Hell this fight should not even be happening in the first place, since the only reason it is happening is because Mashima felt it fitting to have Gray act dumb and stand in the way of the only thing capable of killing Zeref.



In a world of good writing - Gray's role at most would be about getting knocked out by a single punch, while we focus on LUCY(aka the actual  heroine of the manga) trying to bring Natsu back

In world of MASHIMA writing we instead got a rehash of that shitty avatar arc scene but with even more Gray-wanking. And with some Erza wank on top of that.



Try to be logical instead of being a biased hypocrite.

END is strong enough to kill Zeref because he's a weakness to him, nothing to do with being stronger than him.

The chapter was good writing especially the fight, it made legit sense, if you don't have your END wank goggles on.



Gray fighting on par with END isn't wanking, it's called common sense, logic and good writing. The only wanking going on is from the END fanboys.

Makarov will be back since Tenrou Island is connected to the continent now. He'll get de-petrified sooner or later.

I don't like how Gray is fighting on equal terms with END, even though Gray is a devil slayer. Because dragon slayers couldn't do much against dragons in the seven dragons arc. So, why is Gray fighting equally with Natsu, who is END, who is the master of all demons. How does that even work??? Erza stopping the fight was alright, but, I expected a bit more brutality, meaning Erza should have got injured at least. Laxus' scene with Mavis was heartwarming. 3/5.
