Mashima´s Art is topnotch like always, I found a few errors on the palace panel, but those are minor nitpicks for a weekly series it´s splendind.
The next title can mean anything. Sorano and Yukino are far fetched, but what it could mean is that the last chapters refered to several characters. Mashima loves his wordplays. Meaning Mother and child does refer to Mavis but also to Irene in this chapter.
A theory I just came up with: Red Hair is seen as an abonimation in parts of the World of FT. For some reason the place in Ishgar Irene grew up considered her a demon or whatever because of her scarlet hair. She falls in love with the one guy whose nice to her. The people who hate her kill him and try to kill her and her baby Erza. Irene receives the scar on her belly through a fight not thorugh childbirth. Erza is found by a foster family who take her in, they live Rosemarie village where she gets the name Erza by the parents who adopted her, but because they´re farmers they don´t bother with last names, which is why Erza didn´t have one till she met Jellal.
Next chapter is refering to Lisanna and Mira who´ll fight the two underlings of Irene, but could also refer to Yukino and Sorano hinting at the double meaning of both chapters, maybe the underlings are sisters too who knows.
So that Hiro Mashima can pretend that he´s a genius for missleading everyone into thinking Erza and Irene are sisters, but in actuality he did foreshadow this plottwist.
That is a interesting theory, and I think something similar would happen when Irene tells Erza this (they'll meet, it's really obvious by now). To comment on that last part, I think there are few people who think Erza and Irene could be siblings. Tho that is unlikely, it would certainly be a 'genius' move, but don't see it happening.

Irene is Reinas character, Zeref is King and August is Haja.
I wonder when he´s gonna reveal the plottwist that Ank Sheram is Endless and everyone is gonna get mad at the fact that Zeref was beaten during the Halfway point of the series.

A reaction that would fit two kinds of people.
1.The evil guy whose evil for the sake of being evil.
2. A Person who was in a similar situation, but was treated the opposite, it´s repressed anger contrary to her open excitement when she turns her into a mouse.
3. She immediately loses interest when she senses Erza, meaning just the chance of seeing her is more interesting to her than torturing/killing the King.
4. She´s the one who turned the princess into a mouse, it´ll be easiest for her to dispell it. Adding a powerful foe to Fairy Tails side would make sense to change the tides. Seeing as Hiro Made it obvious that she has some relation to Erza this plottwist would be more interesting than her turning out to be the long lost sister.
Do you really think that Hiro thinks at all now? Lol.
In the end, she's gonna get nakamized and turn against Zeref cause she's a scarlet she Scarlets can't be truely evil according to Hiro (remember knight walker? She looked even more evil that the scarlet mild)
But in all honestly, I hope she doesn't turn on Zeref. We already have Brandish, and her turning would be too predicable and bad writing (not like this arc had anything good in it, but still let me hope xD)

Most likely Eireen's plan was to test if the king really loved his daughter, or his self sacrifice was just mere words. Probably she was in the same position as the princess in the past, but not with the same outcome.
I don't think so, she looks as sadistical as Erza Knighwalker, if anyone remembers her.
But since she's a scarlet, she'll definitely be forgiven like Knighwalker was :( Only Scarlets are redeemable on the story

Just asking, but don't you feel that Eileen was forced? (I mean her introduction out of nowhere to match August who was introduced to be the strongest 50 chapters back)

Erza should really sit down; got her own spriggan, had most of the time with the 2nd one (Jellal just had 5 panels off fight 😠) and now is foreshadowed to fight the 3rd more powerful one? Considering the BS that always comes outta her it's really sad and bad
Only because the pacing was bad doesn´t mean that the story revolving around the character has to be bad. I do think that Erza´s fights have become terrible since the end of the GMG, but that doesn´t mean that I think the character isn´t interesting.
For comparision sake, I think Natsu is the most boring character of the main cast and Lucy is way better written. Yes her fanservice went from funny to obnoxious, her personality is annoying whenever she is in a fight and it never feels earned when she gets a win because it´s heavily inconsistent, but I don´t think that her personality or her life is boring. We´ve seen Lucy be more than just an object we´ve seen her cry, suffer, laugh, think, the list goes on. All of ths could only happen because we saw her developing as a character. On the other hand Natsus personality for 80% of the time was fight, don´t hurt my friends, it´s fun to play pranks and go on adventures, the end.Wendy is pretty similar. Look cute, be unconfident, get told to be confident, rinse repeat.
Every other MC did have to go through a struggle with their demons of the past, some of them were faced in the present others in flashbacks, this includes Erza. It took Natsu untill the Tartaros arc to get some of that development. He had a little through flashbacks, but trust me that´s way less pronounced and effective in the manga than in the Anime.
To answer your question, I think it wasn´t forced to introduce her. I think it was somewhat forced to declare her second strongest, when Brandish explains in the same panel, that August is stronger than her. It was some bullshit wording to give her more credit as a woman, when in actuality all Hiro did was declare her 3rd ranking among the power scaling.
Zeref>August>Irene.
As a character though I think she´s a blank slate and yes she could become another Sheria, who was only introduced to give Wendy a playmate and pedophile bait,but there is the slim chance that Hiro planned for this introduction as he did with several storylines setup in part one.
To give you a proper analogy of my thoughts on FT. It´s a bunch of shounen gold wrapped around lodads shit. After you´ve collected all the gold at the top of the pile, you tink that the gold was just masquerade to trick people into collecting shit, but all of sudden you find a goldbar within the piles of shit and you keep seeking for more and you keep finding silver and sometimes another goldbar, which kinda justifies the searching in shit. Imo that´s how FT is written.
Tbh, Erza is as one dimensional as Natsu is. "Touch my friends, you'll pay for it", the only time I see something different from her is when Jellal is around.
Sure, she got massive development in tower of heaven (and few minor developments related to Jellal, like oracion sies and kagura), but after that she's all the same too. Compare that to Grey or gajeel, she looks pale.
Yeah, agree that August > Eileen, it has been said multiple times in the manga too. But the problem is she's on the same league as August and that's forced AF cause makarov nor anyone even mentioned her until that point (482/483). Can't believe makarov didn't even hear about such a powerful and famous person after collecting info from Alvarez over an year. That's enough proof to see that she was NOT planned.
Hiro can stop redeem if he plays the cards right and not have erza solo this bitch with her BS armour that bends laws. Jellal taking her out would be much better since he's also important to Erza and the relations shall play out; moreover by hype him being Eileen level is also understandable.
LMAO at the analogy, though fairy tail used to give lots of gold before GMG and after that it's mostly shit.

This chapter was awesome.
I think that the next chapter has something to do with Yukino and Sorano. Sense they are sisters and the next chpter's name is "Elder sister and younger sister". It can be right?
We can only hope. That's one reunion that is long overdue. I fear it might more likely mean Lisanna and Mira given she's bein targeted and that is nothing but a recipe for disappointment since Lisanna is involved.

The best part is Gajeel freaking out about his 'dying words'. Oh, Levy's sure in for a treat.
Why the hell did Irene turn the princess into a mouse? And why can she do that anyway? Her magic is a bit much but she'll probably get defeated eventually anyway.
I hope the next chapter doesn't refer to Irene and Erza. I don't want Irene to be her sister. It'd be better to see Sorano and Yukino instead or maybe Juliet and Heine.
