I'm starting to get annoyed with layla I mean when the hell did she do all of these things ,she became a mage and learnd magic , get a hell lot of golden keys and it seems that she knew zeref , she's also a married women with a daughter and she's dead? Loool

I can see natsu transforming into Etherious form to beat all of Acnologia. But Acnologia will take Zeref in and become the immortal dragon king and the Etherious Natus Dragneel will beat them all Fairy Tail Style.

Nope, he never intended to. I am really puzzled by all the people who are saying that Zeref was "defeated". No he wasn't, he got exactly what he wanted. He even said as much. I only hope that he is dead, hate the "not quite dead" motif.
Also, I love how the writer one episodes his climactic fights. It is one of the things that sets Fairy Tail apart from other Shounen series. Far better this than 10 weeks of "now, see my super super upgrade power. You beat that? Now comes my super super super upgrade power." To do that and be consistent with the story line is a true talent.
What was so great here wasn't that Natsu had some "super power" (of course it was drawn to be super powerish), rather it was the type of magic that was important. Mere power couldn't kill Zeref, but the power of the dead could.

Fantastic turn of events that is one of the best twists a shonen series could pull off. Only Mashima would be gutsy enough to have Zeref be defeated so early and by Natsu no less. It's not even a bullshit power up either, since it's from Igneel and is a one time use only. So many people thought Natsu was going to lose this fight, but with the way Zeref was reacting made it clear Natsu was outclassing him at every turn and he was truly threatened. Can't wait to see who the true big bad is, since Zeref was never really a villain.
Money is on Ankhseram. Heck he might even curse Natsu cause he dared beat his curse and gave Zeref that release of Death he wanted so badly. Ankhseram is a dick like that.
Yeah can definitely see that. For someone to be able to curse mortals with magic that powerful, Ankheram is definitely on a whole other level compared to anything seen so far. I wonder if he will appear in this arc or whatever future final arc there is. It's clear this ISN'T the final arc of Fairy Tail.
