Meh, it's not the same. The god actually straight up came out fully out and was its own entity to battle.
That's called foreshadowing. It's hard to believe but Mashima foreshadows too. By "It's hard to believe" I was being sarcastic.

Fairy Tail's battles have always been hacks, lacks intensity even for a shounen manga. So I wasn't surprised when that god got split in half but Natsu, alone. It's just his friendship talk that is unbearable. If he didn't do that speech, the god kill would have been more accepting.
The cringe was that it was Natsu alone and it was a oneshot+it was a godamn GOD.
No Fairy tail wasn´t always a oneshot fest, they always get overhyped but they got pushed back a couple of times, even though the fights are pretty similar to One Piece, aka I throw my shit at you then you throw your shit at me and we do this till one loses.

What Big announcement will Mashima-sensei announce? Definitely not the end of the manga but may be a movie or Fairy Tail Zero OVA....

The God slayers have not lived up to their reputation in any way shape or form. It would have been much better to see our come in and summon black lighting from the sky and take the thing out or chelia coming in pulling something. I even would have enjoyed gajeel coming in from behind swinging that giant sword he used on the island.
Nope none of that happens instead we get natsu giving us yet another speech and destroying the thing in two hits further displaying that he's too op. If he's taking out God's demons and dragon zeref better be bad as hell otherwise this entire series have been a waste of my time.
