because the only thing that even slightly hints towards lucys progression is the fact shes able to tell the number 1 teams magic power b4 they fought and know that they were hiding it.



basically shes just gained slight observational skills and a magic power reader and both are those are kinda lame aside for the purpose of giving lucy panels to describe ppls magic power so she can remain in the story.



she could've gone to the celestial spirit world and sought out to repair aquarius or go find the person who made the 12 golden zodiac keys int he first place these would've been interesting but just her becoming a better writer and more observant isn't exactly EVIDENCE of her power up.



the super sad part is that i was excited by the guild disbanding as a method for a power up because it makes it so even the weaker fairy tail members Maco, Jet, Droy, Wakaba etc. will have a chance to grow instead of just being comic relief and maybe even droy will lose some weight, but alas the narrator of the story didn't do anything to train her own magic power from what weve seen so far, and even if you say WE DONT KNOW THAT either way she would've had way more magic power if she wasnt working a job and training and instead just trained.



guess well see when they really show us the value of lucys magic meter.

LIKE I wanna see those missions like Everlue Mansion or Galuna Island! I miss the the Team of the 5 mages with Gray, Happy, Erza, Natsu, and Lucy. BUT i really miss the original 3.



Sigh. I wish we would get more than a one-shot but less than a full story arc.



I just hope there would be some kind of in between action before moving on, but seeing how things are moving that not likely to happen unless in an OVA or something.

This whole chapter was well written because it's a great transition from disbanding the guild after a long arc to a brand new arc where everyone have grown dramatically. This chapter shows Lucy's massive growth over the past year (her maturity, her dream job as a writer, and her wanting to bring back Fairy Tail). Also her ability to calmly assess the tournament fight and predict the victor by measuring their magical power is something new that we have never seen. This is actually quite similar to Mavis analytical skills.



And as said before, if this is indeed going down the Rave Master route then Lucy will be the one who will destroy Zeref in the end.



For some reason I find both to have comparable "traits" I guess... just to name a few:

1. Both are summoners. One summons demons and the other summons celestial spirits (angels). Guess the author didn't want to go down the cliche route.

2. Zeref has the Contradictory Curse that takes away life due to the fear and darkness. Lucy has the One Magic (this will be revealed eventually) that creates life from love and light. Similar to how Ellie has power over Atherius or w/e it was called I can't remember.



But yeah if this is like RAVE then Layla Heartfilia is prolly Lucy with memory loss or something new. And I bet Lucy is the one who created the Celestial Spirit World as she has been the only one shown capable of summoning more than 2 spirits (not including Layla if my theory is correct about Layla being the same person as Lucy). Also she was able to summon 8+ spirits at the same time at one point and unconsciously summon the Spirit King to have Loki unbanished.



At least I'm not the only one that drew a Lucy/ Mavis connection. She is accurately judging the power of others, she has been gathering information on the members of FT.. all things necessary for being a tactician.. there is more to Lucy than what is being said at this point in time. I can't wait to see what she has in store because there is no chance that she would just sit around when she knew that Natsu was out training to protect his friends.

I haven't enjoyed fairy tail for a long time but the past few chapters were really good and got me hooked again.Like some of you guys alrealdy implied,it seems like lucy can tell how strong people are by judging their magic power level(same ability as hawk in nnt) .Overall a good setup chapter for the new arc.I hope that the three of them will travel together to find the rest of the guild members

Ohh nice. I hope FT keeps the momentum going. It's been pretty great lately

I am sure she is.  Notice how bored she was with the level of the "champions" and she has the ability to sense power levels far better than anyone else.  Of course she will still be weaker than Natsu, but she was by far the second most powerful person in that stadium.



As for Lucy being a model, that was an entry level position, sometimes you have to take the crap jobs to get to the better job (which she quickly did).  Besides is Marijane a "slut" as well, she also used to pose.
