So she lost access to seeing Aquarius but got her powers for herself? that's a double upgrade if you ask me as she won't have to deal with that fish face's attitude.



Also, how did she use Aquarius' power if there wasn't any water nearby? Plot hole or it's that great an upgrade?

Saying that Lucy is strong enough with just the 12 keys is another idiot remark.if any spirit could fight toe-to toe against enemies as strong as Jackal and Torafusa,than yes,the magic is strong.But the moment you see that the only spirits strong enough are Aquarius and Loki,and even them can only fight to a stalemate,you see what I mean



When Lucy tried to use Scorpion against jackal,he simply smothered the attack and than countered swiftly.She can barely survive summoning 3 spirits at once for an extended battle,and it looks like really few can.

Had Jackal not finished Loki and Virgo off,Lucy would have died.



Franmalth in a instant  absorbed Aries and Taurus.Some minutes later,he even ambushed Lucy and Wendy when they were running away from him and Keyes to go stop face's activation.



Flare is so weak that Laxus defeated her in one blow.Lucy had to summon 3 spirits in order to corner her.laxus is godly powerful,but the nine gates of tartarus and the future enemies aren't weak as Flare.



lucy needs to defend herself and her friends,she needs more power in order to catch up with Natsu,Gray and the others.Celestial spirit magic already reached it's limit,the only way we currently know is that if Lucy raises her magic power,the spirits will get stronger...but there is no time for this.



But what if by breaking her keys she merges with their powers?Lucy will get rid of her weakness and grow frightfully strong.She will be able to play up her role nicely.



Also,IF YOU ARE AFRAID SHE IS GONNA BE OVERPOWERED,DON'T WORRY:SHE WILL.DID YOU READ RAVE MASTER?There is your answer. Elie was as useless as Lucy till mid-end game.Than,she was op enough to overpower end-game level antagonists.



Also,you can say that this shouldn't happen,but I bet that when Lucy is useless,you mock her like other guys here.This isn't a issue here,it is a useless debate.What I am really curious is how Lucy will get stronger.Can she stack the powers of the other 12 spirits like what she did with Aquarius?

Also pretty much my thoughts. Lucy will have to break all the keys till the end of the manga, possibly with quite a bit of villain-one-shotting in between, if RAVE's to go by.




I just fear that Hiro will yet again do the same twist with Layla=Lucy.



The fact that Spirit King insistently refers to her as "Old Friend" and Aquarius did the whole comparison of how different Lucy is from Layla, tips me off towards that.

Anyway, you talked about Natsu, however effectively speaking Natsu has the follow solutions:

* ability to regenerate magic by eating fire

* Dragon Roar (DR)

* Dragon Wing (DW)

* Dragon punch - (DP) - (?? ok I admit I'm not sure about the name, I believe he called it something sky piercing or whatever)

* Dragon Force (effectively boosting dragon magic)

* Dual element (fire-lightning) with injury to his own body



Now let's look better and resume this, one ranged attack (DR), one melee attack (DP), and one that can be used either way (DW). One way to boost his magic status and magic power. At his own peril the ability to wield dual element magic.



Now let's look at Lucy:

Spirits:

* Aquarius (ranged)

* Leo (mainly melee, lion punch can be ranged)

* Virgo (melee)

* Gemini (can adopt the powers - on lesser scale - of everyone it wants)

* Sagittarius (ranged - supposedly never misses no matter the distance)

* Cancer (melee)

* Capricorn (melee)

* Scorpio (melee+ranged)

* Taurus (melee)

* Clock (not used for combat, but still a great shield)

* Aries (basically useless for combat mode. still a good cushion)

Spirits result: 5 melees, 2 ranged, 2 that can go either way, 1 shield.



Weapon: Celestial Whip (ranged)



Magic attack: 88 stars (ranged)





If Lucy keeps Aquarius power, this is a simulation of a death fight against her: Enemy vs Leo+Capricorn+Virgo+Lucy

Enemy forced on a melee fight while Lucy keeps using ranged aquarius power to weaken his attacks. At some point she'll pull one melee, and set Gemini transformed in Aquarius on attack, while at the same time prepares to launch the 88 stars attack. If the enemy at any point gets to close she can use the whip, and if he uses a ranged attack able to destroy everything around she'll use the clock as a shield. Is this not OP to you?!?!? 4 against 1 with a array of ranged and melee solutions at the same time leaving no open spaces....



Think about it. she's now using only one spirit (CSK) while fighting 3 opponents at the same time!!!! Imagine if she was able to control 3 spirits at the same time!!! Yes they would not be as powerful, but then again the use of CSK is due to the power of the enemy in question. Good thing that at least (so far) as long as CSK is summoned, she isn't able to summon more spirits, however, something tells me that on the next chapters, until she releases someone or gets more help that's exactly what is gonna happen...



Now I really would like to know where the hell did you pulled that sexist comment from.....

You all noticed she now has aquarius' Tattoo right? The one across her collar bone? It's part of her chara design now, feels permanent

Hummm I don't think so since it would break the character balance....



It's enough for now since she:

* can summon and keep 3 spirits at the same time,

* do the 88 stars attack (at the games the attack failed due to outside interference, however current Lucy -"self-power" wise, not counting Aquarius power- should be able to do it without Gemini help)

* got that celestial whip,

* has the bonus of having each spirit specialization...



Maybe she'll keep this power for a while, but in the end the CSK will recreate the aquarius key for her.



I think however that she should have kept Pisces and Libra keys in order to get the full set... maybe she'll get them in this arc in order to fight the demons.



It would however be funny to see a angry and frustrated Lucy putting out Natsu's flames every once in a while.

It'll lose her uniqueness..

we already have Juvia we dont need another water mage.. Unless the king said 'you are now Water Dragonslayer' then I will accept that :D

She is truly shining as the main character. Hahaha.
