Okay, just asking, because I think I missed something. Why is everyone saying Gemma lost? He just got hit by a very powerful attack by Sting, I don't think it was established that he's down for the count, atleast not yet. I could be wrong, but from what I've seen, there could be a chance Gemma will continue fighting with Sting. Yes, the dude has a hole in his chest, but we don't how strong Gemma really is, for all we know, he could have more stamina than Makarov and actually fight with such a wound. (Just in case people question me why I brought in Makarov to the subject, it's because Makarov was still alive with a hole through his chest from Purehito, barely, but still alive. Although, with all this said, any corrections are welcome if I missed something.)
Sabertooth were strong because they had no real competition. That's it. They are not powerhouses. Well Minerva might be but that's it.
Actually that might not be that true.
we do not know how strong current FT members are after the whole timeskip and magic strength stuff. For all we know current Natsu is hades-level or something. Its really impossible to determine current power levels of FT characters unless they face a dragon again.

It has been stated she is Genma's daughter and the way Sting is now I think she would need some proper leverage to calm him down from extracting his rage towards her as well.
Besides, if Lecter is indeed dead then (assuming that Minerva will step up to the throne) she will lose Sting.....or at least I think so. I mean, with Lecter presumably dead I can clearly see Sting packing up and kissing ST goodbye.
Sting's reaction to her does not matter as long as she is stronger than him
And yeah Sting would leave, unless she manipulates Sting to direct his hate towards Natsu. Which is kind of hard to do with Lector alive. With Lector being dead she can cause Sting to put everything in fulfilling his promise to Lector of defeating Natsu, as well as to make Sting blame Natsu in a way for what happened.
This chapter does seem to be all about setting up motivations for the final competition. And we have at least two if not three match-ups fueled by hate, revenge, etc.
