There's one major issue with your claim. You imply they won previous years while not being famous. That is a completely contradictory arguemnt that destroys its own point. Winning  a tournament this big would guarantee fame for sure. Also it is perfectly possible to rise to great fame during such a short period of time. Look at how FT started. They were booed on the first day and now they clearly rival ST in fan cheers. It is perfectly plausible and given the level power ST is exibiting, likely that ST only won last year when their big 5 heavy hitters joined their ranks. Simple as that.

For me it's just the desire to deny haters any justification that they like to craft from misinformation, denial of evidence and logic as well as their own blatant bias. It's a flaw of mine I will admit.

also I really like "power of emotions" as opposed to the "power of friendship" in the anime. much less corny and asspull-y

I get this is a discussion for FT chapters, but I don't see how you guys can "argue", "debate", w/e you wanna call it with ppl who are so set in their own opinions they don't listen to logic and proof.  



I personally would not spend the time and energy on them.  It is just not worth it IMO.  I would like some clearance on how you guys do this, it doesn't make sense to me =.=

Except that the Grand Magic Tournaments is a Fiore only event and as I said, Jason is clearly implying that their name spread through out the continent for their previous victory (including the other countries). So no, there's no contradiction in my argument.



Also unlike Sabretooth, Fairy Tail was infamous not from a tournament, but rather from the magicians, Fairy Tail's previous glory/power and such.
