Fairy Tail Chapter 296 Discussion

This was an alright chapter. Natsu shows us the power of First Generation Dragon Slayers by defeating Sting and Lecter.

My only confusion with this part of the series is that... how did Natsu become so strong after not being able to train during the 3 months before hand. Maybe he is just that strong?

Some people mad that Natsu get the spotlight? Are you serious?Who the hell is the fucking main character of this manga ?  Yes exactly, Natsu it is, Gajeel is a side character and nothing more, he is nothing to this story, he is a fodder. Go and cry somewhere else please, it gets annoying.

My issue is with the people trying to find excuses for their hatred. Fine you hate FT. Don't bullshit your way making shit up. Be honest about it.

@Darklight0303... obviously.. I was implying that he may eventually be defeated on some troll-sh** like Sting & Rogue

It was a glorious victory but i REALLY MISSED Gajeel aaand also...Barion-Zara said:
Nice, too bad that Gajeel didn't fight but Natsu didn't even need Lightning. Has he really become this strong?!

Man Grey needs to kick some ass soon...to make up for the loss he had before, since he's supposed to be Natsu's rival.

yeah exactly, i can't even imagine what would happened if he used lightning as well

+ if Gray is as strong as him then i won't have any complaint :D

Why do people keep talking about powerups? There were no powerups for Natsu in this fight. If you are talking about the talk about feelings that was simply Mavis explainning Ntsu's motivation which in turn becomes his source of power but not literally, it never happened like that.

And FT's fights aren't particularly different from other Battle-Shounen. I for one like how everyone has his own abilities yet in the end it's an all-out brawl. Comments like

"dbz-style" fights  are not considered insults. If I want battles with tactics I might go watch Naruto, there's no reason to limit ourselves and there is no reason to hate on FT for "random powerups"

I meant give pages in the chapters. Words are cheap. Try again or just give it up now.

Wow, that's pretty harsh. You need to relax, just become someone disagrees means nothing especially on a forum of all things. Anyway, same thing applies to you, please give some proper reference to your implication because the link you gave shows absolutely nothing of such and is just how you interpreted it - not a very good argument if it can be interpreted differently, which I know many will disagree with. You aren't too knowledgeable about the Fairy Tail world, evident in this thread as you didn't even know that there was a world map which has been out for years. So I especially think you of all people should not act like your words are fact, you clearly don't buy the volumes and if you did, you'd know there was a map.

Anyway, all that your link even suggested was that they rose to fame last year. However, The magic council has been keeping an eye on them and seven years ago, Sabretooth was nothing special. In other words, not one year ago, but seven years ago they were nothing special. It's even said directly that they grew over the past few years. Especially so because of five members who joined seven years ago - five also being the amount of people who can participate in a tournament.

Plus, it's been confirmed that the tournament has been going for more than one year and of which, Lamia Scale and Blue Pegasus never won either - yet did participate[/url]. We can also take into account that Quarto Cerberus (Master tells them to win this year) and Mermaid Heel hadn't won either (Kagura not trying). All this would leave the candidates of winning each year as Sabretooth or unnamed guilds, that aren't memorable enough to be mentioned missing.  Plus, take into account that the games are Fiore dominated even if/with other guilds participating outside of Fiore. I personally think Jason's referring to how their fame broke out of Fiore because of the last game and definitely not that they've only won one game.

Lets be honest, Sting and Rogue's Dragon Force state was pitiful visually. Compare it to Natsu's two instances, no aura in the form of the Dragon was on either Sting or Rogue. Also Dragon Force is triggered by devouring a source of massive energy such as Aetherion and the Flame of Rebuke.

A dragonforce state that is self triggered without a power source would naturally be weaker >_> If Dragon Slayer Magic was made to combat dragons then Dragon State was meant to level the playing field perhaps by devouring the roar of the dragon they would fight against and then convert it into power that would allow them to take the Dragon out.

Sting and Rogue had actual personality, something that Jellal, Laxus and Ultear didnt.

Plus they had a good reason to win this fight, since they have been training for the last 8 to 10 years for this fight specificly.

Nakama power (or w/e its called) should have been on their side not with Natsu.

But i clearly was expecting to much from Mashima

Wow what manga have you been reading? Definitely not Fairy Tail

I call bullshit on this one if Natsu is this strong  he should be 4 times erza's strength and also stronger than laxus and Gildarts
