Fairy Tail Chapter 296 Discussion

  • #130
I feel like something is missing in the chapter. Yes, it was great to see Natsu destroy Sting and Rogue, but something isn't there... maybe it was the dialogue.

Anyway, I thought they would have shown a bit more of Rogue or something instead of just "I want to fight Gajeel" and then he gets owned in like 3 hits.

Sting and Lector's flashback was, again, very weak and just a bad read in general.

Also, Gajeel vanished lol

Bullshit. How can you call this badass when Natsu received power-up through cheating means. And they were hyping how these guys are strong. Even battle with, Laxus a few chapters back, was too much.

And no, I'm not hating. There is a difference between a fan and a blind fan. I can't accept every illogical  shit that is thrown my way. I just can't except this difference in power. This chapter seriously damaged my score of Fairy Tail.

They were strong cause they had no competition over the past 7 years. >_> Your fault for falling for the falacy that is Sting and Rogue's claim that they killed their own dragon. FFS look at Acnologia, look at Igneel. A RUNT WOULDN'T even dent that! Seriously those who feel disappointed about Sting and Rogue Losing have only themselves to blame. People who enjoy this chapter are blind? No no. The ones who ate up all of ST's claims and the third Generation's words, are the blind ones.

but you can't deny the fact that natsu got another weird power up out of the blue, which just piss off, the amount of power ups soon will exceed that of actual chapter count

Actually I can. I didn't see any new special move and he was supposed to have powered up thanks to Ultear's Second Origin. He never went all out so you can't accuse him of powering up when the only fight we saw before this was the one where he attacked ST's lodgings.

If you read Fairy Tail for the action, then it get's a solid 5/5, you won't find another manga with better action very fast.

If however you want your manga to have a good story, then this manga is, slowly, getting worse compared to the arcs before this.

The first thing that bothers me is how Lucy seems to be someone with the roll of getting beaten most of the time (luckily not all the time...) just to give Natsu & co a reason to take revenge on the eneemy.

Btw, in this fight something like this can again be seen, although not like the times before. Personally I'd want the battle against Minerva to be the moment of "revenge", not this fight, but that's just my own opinion...

2nd thing I dislike are the often random power ups, although that isn't really the case now, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about ;)

I'm not saying I'm against power ups, but I like them more if they have a (good) reason, like in One Piece or Dragonball and even Naruto.

A 3rd thing I'd love to have seen diffrent is..."losing". Because of the often random power ups, Natsu & co are getting somewhat "unbeatable"

I'm sure some or many like this but I prefer characters that achieve something because they worked for it ! They win, sometimes lose, train/work hard and overcome an earlier obstacle. Again, just my opinion.

A 4th thing i dislike, and this is realy a shame, is that this manga is getting predictable....not good...

About this chapter: the fight was a disappointment as some people have already said. Why overhype them if you'll make them lose like this ?

One reason: To show how strong Natsu is......could have been done in another way.

I'd also like seeing more action NOT done by Natsu, Erza or Gajeel. It would be nice if the other characters got a bit more attention (and win without getting help from Natsu xP *cough* Lucy *cough*).

All in all, I stil like Fairy Tail but the weak points made it drop from my 2nd most favourite manga to somewhere at the bottem of my top 10....

(So don't bother saying i'm a hater, that I should drop it or whatever. Typing a small text with critiqe doesn't mean someone hates fairy Tail....)

I know its shonen and stuff like this is to be expected, but goddam Mashima has a real talent at pissing me off in these chapters. Such a fucking anti-climax and so unexciting. How could someone who wrote Ravemaster write such shit.

Then why did Natsu and Gejeel get owned so hard in the previous chapter?

And second origin cant be stronger then Dragon Force. Afterall, Natsu used dragon Force to defeat Jellal (one of the 10 strongest wizards).

I totally agree with what Crimsin_Cloud said.

They were the most develloped enemys in fairytail and got trolled -.-"

We never even got to see Rogue - Gajeel. Yes you are blind if you liked this chapter so much

IMO: the fight should have ended here. Its just a yearly tournement and nothing is on the line exept some prestige. Why does natsu have to win evry fight solo, its just boring.

As I said before, there were no power ups on Natsu's said whatsoever. He and Gajeel LET Sting and Rogue beat them up a little so they could see through their moves and fighting habits, that is all there is to it and it was even clearly stated by Natsu in 295.

Let me repeat myself - we never had any confirmation on Twin Dragons power - ale we had were their claims, nothing more. We never saw them fight, just as we never saw Natsu and Gajeel fight after second origin training (aside from the ST quarters raid). Natsu was stronger than Sting and Rogue combined from the very beginning of the fight.

Precisely.

Typical Fairy Tail battle, Natsu becomes overpowered and beats the hell out of the bad guys. I was really hopping to see more from Gajeel so I'm pretty disappointed this is almost as bad as when he nearly 1 shot Master Hades. I like Natsu but I think his last "good " fight was against Jellal at least that one made sense how he powered up at the end. All these new fights its just the same damn thing.

3/5
