I don't think she meant to kill them, I think she thinks that Ivar and that Lnu guy, wants to start a war.

It frustrates me so much when Ivar continuously comments about how weak Thorfinn is.

So the Lnu are still willing to be in friendly terms with the Nordics but they are just taking precautions. Hild's time to shine has finally come, to get rid of both instigators of this conflict but it's probably too late.

I totally didn't expect it, though it makes perfect sense with Hild's character. Very curious to see how the author will go about it

I'm curious on what Thorfinn is going to think of Hild's plan, If the old lnu and Ivar are eliminated war may be avoidable, but what is throfinn going to think of an assassination plot.

I think ultimately there is no good ending to be had due to our actual history, and the elders vision he saw of the future. I think war is inevitable and either Thorfinn will let himself die as a last attempt at peace, or he will just retreat to Greenland and give up. I think him sacrificing himself would be more likely of those two outcomes though.



As for this chapter and the future of the next handful of chapters, I think Hild will be proposing an assassination of those two and Thorfinn will disagree, of course. Maybe he ultimately changes his mind but still fails, but if they do get assassinated then that’s basically guaranteeing war by provoking the other side to the extreme.

So now Hild will be as stupid as Ivar and make things worse ... settlers will probably fight amongst themselves if she kills Ivar.

Things are already past that talking your way out stage, and to see how both sides are eager for waging war, someone like Hild has to step up.



Thorfinn's pure pacifism won't take anywhere, hope she has an approach of herself.

Hild means well but will probably make things worse I bet. Good chapter this one

I don't think there's anything Thorfinn and Hild can do to stop this chain of events from spiralling out of control and leading to another war.
