I don't think there's anything Thorfinn and Hild can do to stop this chain of events from spiralling out of control and leading to another war.

I hope Hild doesn't do anything reckless

I don't think she meant to kill them, I think she thinks that Ivar and that Lnu guy, wants to start a war.



and that's a fact, they both intend to fight eachother's people, but we know that, and I don't think Hild will just notice it and do nothing: she said she's not gonna allow war to break out and her face spelled out for us that she meant "whatever the cost". She could very well kill them, or she could try some other way to single them out and put all the blame on the two of them.
