Who says Farmland Saga is over? It's still going on!
Thorfinn and Einar are still slaves. Ketil's farm is still running.
Just because things are starting to boil doesn't mean Farmland Saga is over.
We haven't even reached the climax of this arc--that being Canute taking
over Ketil's farm. That has been foreshadowed for a LONG time.
You can't have the bang without the build up. All the "boring" parts of Farmland Saga is the build up. Though I don't consider them boring at all. Einar is too awesome.
I mean would we give a crap about Arneis unless we spend so much time with her?
Without the build up, all the characters would feel flat and the drama would feel forced. Sure we would still get good action but it would feel empty.
One reason why I love all of Farmland Saga is because I trust the author.
I trust that the author isn't egging me on and WILL lead us to badassery.
He has before. The Rise of Canute Arc had a bunch of build up.
We had deal with Canute BEFORE he took a level in bad ass.
Ketil's a scumbag, beating a woman that way and screaming about thieves while getting his fake Ulfberht, and it almost certainly is a fake, as the originals were made out of imported springy monosteel, and would not chip like the one in his hands.

The inscription was "Ulfberht", a name that can be found on a lot of swords during the 8th - 11th century. Historians think it was the name of a famous craftsman who founded some kind of sword label. Only quality steel for Ketil, it seems.

Why the fuck do people hate character development? Farmland Saga was great. You can't carry longboats and slaughter enemies all the time...
The character development alone makes this arc amazing, not to mention the art progression and the faithful illustration of everyday hardships.
I never said it was bad...i just find it somewhat forgetable....the pace of releases was making it painful to follow and character development is around zero as thorfin didnt really change after spending so much time in the farm..maybe a little but only in the last 2-3 chapters
