    Engaging story, Connie's life as a pickpocket and his interactions with his family.  The writing is lively and immersive, with a good balance between action, dialogue and introspection. Connie's character is well fleshed out. The supporting characters are well developed and add depth to the story. The main story begins with Luxe arriving and claiming that something was stolen from him.

The silk bedding along with the fine wood—which he completely adored—had him utterly fascinated. The boy stopped abruptly as he heard a sound of struggle and a familiar voice outside his door.
