Note: Don't compare the novel to reality, this is not a documentary.

When she opened her eyes, Gu Changan traveled from the apocalyptic world where she had just awakened her abnormal ability, all the way to ancient times during a famine.

Her father was an old fool, not only was he directionally challenged, but he also lacked virtue in all five aspects.

Fortunately, her grand mansion became her portable space?

Her lightning-based ability was still there?

This cheat was a bit overpowered.

Her father doted on her like a precious daughter?

Gu Changan took out a bag of rice.

Old fool father: My daughter is a little fairy.

Gu Changan took out a piece of meat and a bag of flour.

Old fool father: My daughter is a little fairy.

Gu Changan took out a chicken.

Old fool father: My daughter is a little fairy.

Gu Changan had only one goal: to protect her foolish father, and together they would survive and become divine beings.

They wanted to merely survive, yet they ended up walking the path of finding work.

Ok, I really do not want to spend months reading this so do you have an ETA of when this book which does keep my attention, will give you that but I do like reading for 30 min and then nothing. Do you have other novels and are they the same chapter by chapter? Books are made to read in whole.

The core premise revolves around Rara, a character who hails from the demon world with what appears to be an ominous mission: dragging mortal souls to Hell. However, her true intention is far less sinister—she simply desires to be with Akusawa Hiroshi, believed to be among the most formidable demons in the underworld. Alongside her journey, Rara shares a dynamic relationship with Bibi, a figure oscillating between friend and rival, with their interactions marked by constant competition until the very end.

Many individuals I've engaged with, who have at least perused this oneshot, expressed that Retsu Aku's abrupt declaration of "I love you" to Rara felt somewhat out of the blue. Yet, the reason this particular oneshot resonates so profoundly with me is its gradual unfolding. Not only does it build steadily, but one can genuinely observe his affection burgeoning! It remains exceptionally subtle throughout, nearly escaping my notice initially. Upon reflection, it became evident—he was indeed developing feelings for her, albeit not as overtly expressive with his emotions as Rara tends to be. This contrast is precisely why they complement each other so effectively!

The comedic elements are executed brilliantly; I find myself readily identifying with her sentiments and predicaments (exerting immense effort to captivate a man's attention yet invariably ending up clumsy or with things unraveling). Moreover, Rara’s reactions never fail to entertain me! From the onset, it becomes apparent that she wasn't destined to be a demon—her enthusiasm lay more in minor mischief than genuine malevolence.

Ultimately, following Rara's disappearance, Retsu uncovers her true identity: a girl named Sara who had been trapped in a coma for six months prior. While intriguing, I couldn’t help but wish the oneshot delved further into explaining how he located her and managed to access her memories.

There are few manga that I believe would transition seamlessly into anime (unless already adapted), but this undoubtedly ranks high on that list. This could effortlessly span a 12-13 episode series—or even expand to 26 episodes if we delve deeper into burgeoning relationships—not just between Rara and Retsu, but also her bonds with Kayato, Bibi, Rara's demon mother, and the demon realm itself. Such an adaptation wouldn't necessitate omitting anything, merely enriching certain nuances inherent in transitioning mediums.

I'm perplexed as to why others haven't encountered this manga and found it utterly charming! Certain segments involving Retsu and Kayato elicited laughter—their classmates assumed Kayato was gay due to his frequent companionship with Retsu because of his unique powers (though I must point out a minor quibble here: the story never explicitly clarified whether Retsu possessed psychic abilities alongside ghost perception, or merely the latter). Regardless, a club attempted recruiting Retsu by sending their most attractive member as an "offer."

While this concept might seem questionable upon reflection, the narrative didn't dwell excessively on it, which I appreciated since overdoing it could have veered into homophobia.

Rara, attempting to impress him, donned a boy's uniform—an endeavor she herself admitted was ill-conceived.

Additionally, I relished the notion of Retsu and Rara channeling ghosts to heaven instead of hell, much to Rara's consternation.

In summary, I hold immense affection for this manga! Its brevity encapsulates all necessary elements without unnecessary embellishment. It maintains a lighthearted tone while addressing serious themes when warranted. The conclusion exudes sweetness, the pacing is impeccable, and though the art style (especially the chibi designs) may require some acclimatization, there are no significant grievances. The characters leave a lasting impression. Though I yearn for greater depth regarding some figures, doing so might detract from the central focus on Retsu and Rara, especially given the limited runtime. Hopefully, someone reading this review will grasp my admiration for this piece. It's undeniably adorable, and Takada Rie crafted a universe too captivating to confine to a mere oneshot!

Gaba Kawa is a tale about a magical girl who descends to Earth with intentions of creating chaos but ends up wanting to assist a human man instead. She's resolute in making the man fall in love with her through her genuine efforts, not by using magic.

The plot follows a familiar pattern, though there's an interesting twist: if she employs her magic to aid humans, she risks losing her powers. Thus, she must choose between love and self-preservation. The artwork is well-crafted, though it doesn't stand out compared to typical shoujo manga.

It was a pleasant short manga that offered a good read. In summary, it's enjoyable but not exceptional.

Gaba Kawa tells the story of a young demon girl's quest for love. Rara, dispatched to Earth with the sole purpose of creating mischief, unexpectedly finds herself falling for a handsome human boy. Thus begins her hilarious attempts to wiggle her way into Retsu Aku's heart.

This might seem like your typical romantic comedy, but there's one crucial twist: whenever demons use their powers to assist humans, they lose that power. Lose too much, and the demon will vanish completely! This raises a question that every true shojo heroine must ponder: Is true love worth dying for?

Overall, I genuinely enjoyed this book. The characters were adorable and engaging. While it occasionally veered away from total plausibility (after all, it's a tale about a lovesick demon!), I'm glad I purchased it, and I intend to explore more works by Rie Takada. If not for one minor issue, I'd readily give this a full 5-star rating without hesitation.

Since this is a one-volume series, my main concern was: does it conclude satisfactorily? All too often, short series scramble to tie up all loose ends in the final chapter. Regrettably, Gaba Kawa succumbs to this pitfall. Instead of providing a fitting conclusion to an amusing series, the ending feels hurried and poorly thought out. Gaba Kawa is a manga that narrowly misses being "Great" and is instead relegated to merely "Good."

If you're in the mood for a quick read with charming characters, this is the one for you.

If you're looking for something you'll want to revisit time and again... seek elsewhere, my friend.

I’m convinced that Scarlet wants Elias dead. She’s too naive and careless. Glad you got Brad out of the equation author
