The Story  

Initially, I was skeptical about being drawn into Itadakimasu's story, as it seemed unnatural and quirky to me. The situations appeared far-fetched, making it difficult for me to fully immerse myself in the romantic drama. However, over time, the series grew on me; its unique qualities and originality kept me intrigued about what would happen next. I'm giving the story a 7.0 out of 10. It was a lighthearted tale that sparked my curiosity, which is uncommon for a romantic-comedy manga. I believe it successfully softened my aversion to older-woman romances and made me reconsider such taboos in a new light.  

The Characters  

This series doesn't feature a large cast, with Naeko and Ouji taking center stage and consistently grabbing the spotlight. Supporting roles like Naeko’s ex-husband, her co-workers, and Ouji’s classmates are present but generally insignificant. Despite the limited variety, Naeko and Ouji have well-developed personalities that are both entertaining and relatable. Naeko is a diligent young woman who might be a little too perverted for her own good, while Ouji is a mature young man who takes responsibility for his actions and often contrasts with Naeko. Their pairing is intriguing, and their interactions form the enjoyable heart of the series. The characters deserve a 7.5 out of 10. Their distinct personalities make them engaging and relatable, adding depth to this love story and offering a refreshing take on character creation.  

The Presentation  

Presentation is always crucial in any manga, and thankfully Yoshihara didn't fall short here. Itadakimasu looks fantastic, with top-notch art and every panel brimming with life and interest. The character designs are appealing, though some minor characters share similar designs, making them harder to distinguish. While the art style isn't particularly groundbreaking, Yoshihara effectively uses charming chibi characters for comedic effect, enhancing the overall comedic impact. The artwork speaks for itself if you glance at the scans I've shared on this page. The presentation earns a 9.0 out of 10. It was visually pleasing and stimulating, creating an enjoyable reading experience for both the eyes and the mind.  

Final Thoughts  

I was pleasantly surprised by Itadakimasu, as it engaged me more than anticipated and concluded neatly in just four volumes. It challenged my views on unconventional relationships and demonstrated how many relationship taboos should be disregarded because love transcends age, race, sex, and more. This wasn't a groundbreaking story—it lacked sweeping arcs or grandeur—but it was an entertaining read to enjoy with my morning coffee. The overall score for Itadakimasu is 7.8 out of 10. If you're searching for a light, fun read, give it a try!

Such a delightful, hilariously funny manga.  
Perfect for the summer. There really isn't much more to say. The story is straightforward and light-hearted, not overly dramatic but also not just pure fun and games.  
It features a sweet romance between a young schoolboy and an older woman. Most of the time, the manga is told from the older woman's perspective, which works beautifully. This manga is hilarious, endearing, and absolutely wonderful.  

The artwork in this manga is genuinely impressive. There are numerous instances where the art shifts from a deliberately grotesque style typical of comedic mangas to an exquisitely beautiful one that truly enhances the attractiveness of the characters. I believe the range of varying art styles adds to the manga's charm, making it even better.  

The characters are all highly enjoyable to follow. The main character (the older woman) is incredibly funny, flamboyant, outgoing, and, let's be honest, quite lustful. The schoolboy doesn't act his age, but he is incredibly sweet and irresistibly cute. All the supporting characters contribute significantly to the humor in the manga. While there aren't many serious characters, when they do appear, it provides a refreshing contrast for this lighthearted story.  

Overall, I absolutely adored this manga. It was so amusing and serves as an ideal read for anyone seeking a light romantic comedy. Despite its playful tone, it carries a deeper meaning while maintaining a relatively cheerful atmosphere throughout. It highlights the challenges the two main characters face due to their age difference, as well as the rewards they gain from being together. I thoroughly enjoyed this manga and highly recommend it to everyone—even if you're not typically into romantic comedies, this manga is truly exceptional.

Honestly, story isnt great. What's even worse (as far as i read before giving up completely) is that the translation is complete cr*p, almost had an aneurysm trying to understand what is actually supposed to be written

full disclosure i only read around 600-700 chapters until i decided it wont get any better translations...
If im wrong and anyone read after those chapters, or if anyone started reading it from scratch again and sees the translation has changed for the better, please comment here for me. i might go and give it a second try..
