After being a willful young master for twenty years, Jian Yu was suddenly told he was the wrong child.

His parents mercilessly kicked him out, and his former friends kept their distance. Overnight, he was abandoned by everyone.

The only comfort left was his online lover who would never leave him. A famous boss in the game, this person was skilled and arrogantly took him flying. He has a gentle and caring personality and smooths Jian Yu’s hair every day.

After starting an online relationship, Jian Yu’s luck began to improve. When he was short on money, a top fan in his livestream would wildly showered him with gifts, a mysterious buyer purchased his artwork for a large sum of money, and even his meal card inexplicably had thousands of yuan added to it.

However, when the two officially confirmed their relationship and prepared for a video call, Jian Yu was shocked to see his nemesis, Lu Shijin’s face on the phone screen.

Lu Shijin: “…Hi.”

Jian Yu’s smile froze. He was dumbfounded.

*

Lu Shijin has always disliked Jian Yu’s arrogance and domineering behavior.

In the game, he had long recognized Jian Yu but chose to conceal it out of mischievous intentions.

But as his understanding increased, he realized that he had a lot of misunderstandings about Jian Yu in the past.

The real Jian Yu was cute and sincere, and was quite attractive.

Lu Shijin didn’t dare to act rashly and worked hard to repair his relationship with Jian Yu in real life.

Just when he thought their relationship had improved, Jian Yu complained to him in the game——

“Husband, let me tell you, my real-life nemesis has been acting really weird lately. He keeps showing up inexplicably and looking at me with disgusting eyes. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps. I really want to punch him.”

Lu Shijin:

Who will save him?

The entire situation is just adorable <laughs>. It's like witnessing a delightful mix of a grumpy feline (tsundere) and an innocent, goofy dog. Hahaha! This story resonates more personally, especially when it comes to the MC's parents. Big spoiler alert:

Parents who manipulate and hurt their kids to fulfill their desires are truly despicable. The fact that they could reject their own flesh and blood, making the MC feel like an outsider, is heart-wrenching and deserving of a special place in hell. They exhibit immense hatred.

On the bright side, the romance between MC and ML is quite charming. I particularly appreciate the character development throughout the story. Despite the MC's tsundere nature, they were able to accept and confront ML after discovering his foolish plan. It's impressive how someone with trust issues could stay and fight, showcasing their growing confidence in ML's love. Even though they express anger and dissatisfaction, it's a significant victory for those who've experienced neglect and abuse.

Moreover, it's entertaining to watch ML gradually learn how to handle his feisty wife, distinguishing between her proud and demure sides. Their growth together is beautifully portrayed.

A big thank you to translator Noa Edits for their contributions. Reading this novel led me to an unexpected discovery - how to use Google Docs for audio reading! It brought me immense joy!

When I came across the recent negative review, I was initially skeptical about the manipulation alleged in the story, but my doubts grew after reaching Chapter 50. There were moments earlier on that caught my attention, such as how the main character (ML) maintained the charade despite knowing the MC's emotional vulnerability, particularly when seeking the MC's address by finding their uncle. The narrative brushed over this part, which seemed questionable, especially given the portrayal of an overpowering CEO stereotype. Another issue was the scene in Chapter 50 where ML, fueled by a misunderstanding, accused the MC of harboring a grudge, even suggesting MC's attachment to his online persona was used for manipulation. This was quite distasteful.

Although I wouldn't rate it below 3, the story is decent for a light read, providing a sense of positivity. However, one must overlook some peculiar red flags to enjoy it. If you're looking for a casual read and aren't too picky, it might be suitable, but there are certainly better novels available.

Adorable and charming, I found this portrayal quite relatable. It effectively depicted a character who has experienced significant childhood trauma, leading them to constantly test the affections of others by pushing their boundaries, unsure if they'll be abandoned once they reach their limits. Fortunately, ML serves as an endless well of patience and love, consistently demonstrating his unwavering support for MC without ever running out of either.

The story revolves around Jian Yu and Lu Shijin, whose real-life rivalry began from misunderstandings. In the first part, the action takes place primarily within the game, as Lu Shijin initially enters the game to find a wife due to a dare, but unexpectedly encounters Jian Yu. Initially planning a prank, Lu decides to team up with Jian Yu, unknowingly developing genuine feelings as their misconceptions clear up.

Regarding Lu Shijin's initial remarks to Gu Wuzhong, those issues will be resolved later in the story without any excessive drama.

    Here are the main characters:
    - Jian Yu (protagonist, shou): He's sharp-tongued and guarded, often appearing dominant, driven by a need to protect himself after being neglected by his parents. Despite his tough exterior, he has a tender heart and thoughtful nature, but struggles to express emotions.
    - Lu Shijin (love interest, gong): A mischievous and shameless character, known for his impulsive behavior and occasional dominance. His antics, like scaring Jian Yu's parents, add humor. Though he appears mature in real life, he's actually a playful and devoted partner once he realizes his feelings for Jian Yu.

The novel leans towards comedy, with most of the early plot set in the game world. The drama mainly centers around Jian Yu's strained relationship with his parents and the lingering effects of their neglect.

Overall, if you enjoy MMORPG-themed stories and unique, mischievous love interests, this book would be a fun choice. It's suitable for readers who appreciate characters who act their age, even if it means making mistakes along the way.

Throughout the novel, one persistent thought that crossed my mind was how utterly terrible the main character's (ML) behavior was, which left me laughing in a mix of disbelief and frustration. It's heartbreaking to see Jian Yu suffer, moving from an emotionally neglectful and toxic family to a gaslighting Gong. At least his mother-in-law seems to genuinely care for his well-being, making her a rare beacon of kindness amidst the chaos.

It's evident that Jian Yu has never experienced much love or support in his life. Naturally, when faced with an overwhelming affection from the ML, he was defenseless against their manipulative tactics. The supposedly cute and light-hearted romance turned into a chilling tale of deception and control, which left me feeling nauseous. I desperately wish for someone to rescue Jian Yu and protect him from the clutches of the ML – I beg for a happier ending for him.

I'm giving this a 5-star rating because I feel like the current score is rather low, so I'm helping to increase it. Honestly, I can't decide if I loved it or not. It's an entertaining slice-of-life gaming story. Gremlin ML is both annoying and endearing, staying true to his college age persona – he's like that quirky, annoying friend you can't help but enjoy. I really do appreciate the main character, ML.

The protagonist, though, is also quite adorable in his own way. If you're in need of a lighthearted, feel-good read during a break from a heavy and emotional novel, this one fits the bill perfectly. It's a quick and charming pick that will bring a smile to your face.

I am currently on chapter 42, and I'm torn about whether to continue reading or not. Initially, the story was charming, and the characters were amusing, with relatable misunderstandings. However, the novel now feels quite vague and superficial. The gaming aspect is described in great detail, which would be acceptable if it were the main focus, but reviews suggested that it was meant to be a side element. Unfortunately, the family drama and school life parts lack depth, with no proper world-building. Descriptions of everyday activities are minimal, making it difficult to immerse myself in the setting.

The school experience is barely touched upon, with the protagonist attending classes without any significant events or descriptions. The focus seems to be mainly on the online relationships, with in-game interactions and real-life interruptions occurring frequently. The pacing is uneven, alternating between lengthy conversations between the main characters and short bursts of action within the game.

While I initially had high hopes for interesting plot developments, after 40 chapters, the narrative has largely revolved around the MC, ML, and their best friends. Introducing new characters now feels forced and artificial, given the limited scope beyond these core individuals. With each passing chapter, my disappointment grows.

In conclusion, I believe I must stop reading at this point, as the story fails to meet my expectations and I'm losing interest. The potential for a compelling narrative was there, but the execution falls short.

I absolutely despise MC's parents! On the contrary, I adore ML's parents! I appreciate how ML acknowledges his errors and works to rectify them. It's interesting how their dynamics seem reversed - ML appears more level-headed, whereas it's actually MC who exudes a sense of calm maturity. In summary, it's an enjoyable read.
