Velik has always been an outcast. A childhood incident left him with a rare racial subtype that flourishes at night and a unique class—[The Black Fang], a specialization with a singular purpose: slaying monsters. For the past decade, he has dedicated himself to this purpose, honing his skills and leveling up by cutting down the countless beasts that plague the frontier. Alone, he has safeguarded remote settlements, becoming their unseen guardian in the night.

But this year is different. The monster population has surged beyond anything he’s ever encountered, stretching him to his limits. No longer able to protect everyone alone, his actions attract the attention of an officially licensed monster hunter—one who seems more interested in studying Velik than assisting him.
