Becoming An Evil Magical Girl

  • Rating(4.3 / 5.0)

Shizuka once idolized magical girls, dreaming of becoming one herself. She was captivated by the idea of saving the world from the forces of evil and serving as a beacon of hope and light. However, everything changed after the first generation of magical girls retired. The title of \"magical girl\" lost its meaning, shifting from heroism to mere celebrity status-a springboard for fame and stardom. No longer protectors of a world once threatened by the monstrous youmas, magical girls had become symbols of a superficial culture. The world, now safe and complacent, bored Shizuka to no end, leaving her disillusioned and disgusted by what magical girls had become.

The story is well-crafted and holds great promise for the future. Above all, your own enjoyment in writing should be your priority. It’s not always about money or recognition, but about the joy of sharing your work with others. If your readers appreciate your stories, that alone is a meaningful achievement. Many focus only on the present, but some of us think long-term. This isn’t a critique—just a reminder that preserving what we cherish today is key to shaping a better tomorrow.

Keep in mind, I'm an extremely harsh critic, due to the massive amounts of novels I read. From the first sixteen chapters, I am already invested. The only problem likely is the lack of clarity revolving the personality of Alchemy. We need to see more social situations to amplify our understanding of her. Not to the point she's predictable, but to the point we legitimately love or hate her as an individual based on our own ideals and hers. My currently unofficial wife: Faded1Fate, I tell you this:Try to use her thought process to answer these questions to make her more vivid, some of have already been answered:Is Kill Or Be Killed a good concept? Would you kill before threat has been shown if you believe a possibility of damage could be demonstrated? What if someone isn't physically endangering the country, but instead destabilizing it? Would execution be an option? At what point would it be?Would you manipulate your allies for the sake of your people? What would be your reaction if you realize that one of your allies has overturned the alliance? What is your ideal partner? (Compatibility question, not legitimate romance)Could you be angered to a point of destruction? Would you mercilessly kill a nation if they left your nation on the verge of annihilation?Just how smart are you? Academically wise, logically wise, psychologically wise? (Academic refers to the subjects - math, science, blabla. Logically is using logic to decide things. Psychologically is manipulation, and using people)Are you afraid of your strength? Would you kill a former ally who's actively trying to kill you?

A little cliche, but your writing style makes the story unique. The only challenge is the frequent changes in scenes and locations, which can be hard to follow sometimes. Adding a little bit of description whenever necessary would help. Otherwise, a potential story with good characters, especially Sebastian- I love his madness!😏
