Evander, a cold and enigmatic Cinderen bound by a curse he refuses to explain, collects these promises like currency. His path collides with Aelys, a fierce and determined young woman whose own oath is shrouded in mystery. Drawn together by necessity but divided by mistrust, their relationship is a volatile mix of attraction, hatred, and manipulation.

Aelys has a plan: to use Evander to infiltrate the Cinderen from within and destroy them for good. But Evander’s own agenda—and the secrets he harbors—may be just as dangerous. Bound by forces they can’t fully control, the line between ally and enemy blurs with every step deeper into the mirror world where betrayal, blood, and fire reign.
