"There are two kinds of students at this facility; the ones who are unable to control their powers, and those who are pure evil. Which are you?"
"I don't know yet."
༺•༻
One mistake and your life comes crashing down. Fiona was on her way to the Paris Fashion Week before that one incident. Now, she's being held hostage in the Migdon Rehabilitation Center for Disturbed Young Supernaturals (MARC) —the school for the crazies. More than anything, she is sure she is not supposed to be here. She is a talented teenager who has her sight set on becoming a successful fashion designer.
But she has to convince the MARC staff board of the same.
That proves difficult, as nothing is going her way. Her romantic life, involving a particular playboy/werewolf and loner/dark elf, is turning into a hot mess. There's also the Zarnian Coven, a notorious black magic cult, which has its eyes set on her.
And last but not least —the mysterious face she keeps seeing. Whenever it appears, she loses all control and morphs into the force of destruction MARC believes her to be.
All Fiona wants... She doesn't know what she wants anymore.

EXTRACT 1
Calmly, the boy got out of the window, his expression blank. He took his sweet time to walk to the girl, his hands in his pockets and his attention focused on her. Stopping only inches from her, he looked down at her, finally letting his fury show.
Up close, Fiona realized the elf was very good-looking. He was also tall, her head barely reaching his shoulders. His frame was a bit lanky, but broad-shouldered. Their proximity was making her heart race. His eyes bored into hers, scarring her soul. In the moment, she had let her tray fall, but took no notice of it.
"If you feel someone is out to kill you, that is none of my business." He said, his entrancing bass voice a little above a whisper. "Now. Leave."
EXTRACT 2
Cain studied the human girl before him. He'd heard the new student was a feisty one, but no one had told him she was pretty. She didn't have the kind of beauty that stopped you in your tracks, but one that grew lovelier the longer you looked. Her skin was dark and her hair, even darker. Captivating black eyes made it easy for one to loose oneself in them. Then there was the sexy attire she had on. Cain found himself bearing the strong urge to kiss her attractive plump lips.
The new look on the president's face startled Fiona. His eyes had darkened and the smile on his face had been wiped off. Slowly, he lowered his head. Fiona's eyes widened, her legs weakened. All this while, her heart had been behaving abnormally, but now, it seemed to constrict, narrowing in her chest. Fiona thought again. It couldn't be a reaction to the werewolf. This sensation was painful. Every heartbeat brought on an intense sting that wounded her nerves. Rapidly, Fiona's vision began to blur, till all was black.

Popular Reviews
I glance over the reviews again and can't help but notice the overwhelming praise for what I consider to be a disaster of a manga. This manga closely mirrors the original it shamelessly imitates, another failed attempt at leveraging tragic events to evoke pity and "meaning" for its characters within this so-called "story."
Story: 2/10
I've already provided a fairly detailed analysis of the original's story, so I won't repeat myself here. There isn't much of a story here—just a framework into which one tragedy after another is poured.
The plot begins with Reina, her mother, and her daughter. Reina's boyfriend suggests breaking up when she mentions that she was raped and has a child. Reina is now heartbroken. Reina's mother ends up in the hospital due to overworking herself. Reina's child falls down the stairs and becomes blind as a result. Reina struggles to find a job because she dropped out of high school. She turns to sex work. Reina makes a friend! But soon, she becomes a target of the boss at the sex shop. Reina is forced into an S&M situation against her will. Her friend comes to her rescue, hitting the boss with a fire extinguisher and telling her to flee. Reina runs to her boyfriend's house. Her boyfriend apologizes for leaving her and agrees to stay and help raise her child. Reina mentions her friend is in trouble with the boss. Her boyfriend rushes off to help. The boyfriend gets shot in the head by the boss. Reina wonders why her boyfriend is taking so long. She finds him with a bullet hole in his forehead. Reina is devastated. She is then kept as an S&M sex doll by the boss. Yoshiyuki, from the original manga, appears and tells the manager of the sex shop he wants to save Reina. Reina is being held captive, so Yoshiyuki throws smoke grenades (yes, he actually does this) into the boss's house in an attempt to rescue her. Reina is seen as a hollow version of her former self, and Yoshiyuki hugs her as the boss approaches with a gun aimed at Yoshiyuki. Reina shoots at the boss after Yoshiyuki punches him, but the bullet hits Yoshiyuki instead. Reina is now under Yoshiyuki's care (though it remains unclear what happened to the boss and his goons who imprisoned her). The end!
Tl;dr Essentially, the story revolves around Reina and the endless misfortunes she experiences. That's all.
Art: 5/10
Standard shoujo art style. Nothing particularly good or bad about it.
Character: 2/10
Reina is nothing more than a magnet for tragedy, while Yoshiyuki serves as her knight in shining armor. Everyone else is merely a collection of irrelevant plot devices used to perpetuate Reina's tragic life.
Enjoyment: 2/10
I find it amusing how the boss goes around killing people, holding a girl with a family hostage, and somehow manages to evade capture. The lack of believability in this manga is absurdly bad.
Overall: 2/10
In summary, this manga is just as much of a disaster as the original. While you might momentarily justify giving it anything above a 4/10, an objective look reveals its numerous flaws and overall mediocrity.
After going through 'Deep Love: Ayu no Monogatari' to this point, I genuinely wouldn’t have anticipated such a dramatic shift in events. However, the most frustrating aspect of "Deep Love" was its heavy focus on death. Yes, I get that they aimed to keep it realistic, but it felt overwhelming at times. On the bright side, each volume provides a continuous explanation for the main characters’ arcs, which is appreciated.
That said, what I truly loved about the "Deep Love" manga series is how all the stories interconnect seamlessly. This is unlike many other mangas I’ve read where the plot skips years without much explanation, leaving gaps. Here, everything feels cohesive and well-thought-out.

Deep Love Reina no Unmei is undoubtedly the saddest and most tragic of them all. It narrates the story of Reina, who is a friend, lover, and mother. The artwork is impressive, and while there aren't many characters, the limited cast perfectly suits this brief manga. It's a fast read, yet an incredibly difficult one to get through emotionally. If you're searching for a happy manga, I highly recommend turning back before diving into this one. However, if you believe you can endure it, I strongly urge you to give it a read!

Story: 10/10
I absolutely loved this story. It is indeed very tragic, so if you're only into rainbows and sunshine, I'd recommend reading something else. This narrative beautifully portrays happiness, family relationships, and the struggles of life. Hey, it even resonates with some real-life pregnant teens out there.
Art: 10/10
The art style feels strikingly familiar. It effectively captures the expressions of the characters and includes some intimate scenes in certain parts. These scenes can make the characters appear either unattractive or beautiful. I just have to say, I love the art!
Characters: 9/10
Reina is cheerful, caring, and loving towards others. She's friendly and outgoing, always trying her best to please people. However, I must point out that she seems a bit... naive. Why would you choose to become a prostitute when you could work at McDonald's? But overall, I admit her life is quite sad.
Enjoyment: 10/10
This story gave me a newfound respect for dramas. Typically, I dislike tragedies and dramas, but this one truly touched my heart with its compelling narrative.
Overall: 10/10
In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed the manga, and I'm confident you might too. If you appreciate tragic romances and family struggles, you'll likely enjoy this.
