In my past life, I, Lu Chen, a disciple of the Profound Spirit , endured three hundred years in the Demonic Abyss. To protect the sect’s peace, I sacrificed my spiritual roots and severed my cultivation. Yet, I was despised by my fellow sect members, treated with cold disdain, and ultimately met a tragic end, perishing with deep hatred!

Now reborn, I decisively leave the sect. From this moment on, I am peerlessly invincible!

All sects rush to win me over, igniting a battle to recruit me!

As the truth gradually comes to light, the sect master is struck with deep remorse and leads the disciples to kneel, begging for my return.

“My good disciple, I was blind and foolish. Please… come back!”

Senior Sister: “Junior Brother, I was wrong. The one who was ungrateful and heartless was me!”

Little Junior Sister: “I deserve to die! Senior Brother, please give me a chance to atone for my sins!”

Now, as the Supreme Emperor, I narrow my eyes, my voice shaking the heavens—

“You want me to return to the sect? That will only happen when the sun and moon reverse, and rivers flow backward!”

The sect? I will never return!

My enemies? I will never save!

Read as of Chapter 57.Normally I would read more, but I think I understand how this story operates. Proceed this story with caution. This is nothing close to a masterpiece. It may be in the other end though. This story is very cliche and garbage. Turn your brain off and enjoy the cliches, tropes and nonsense. Just because it gives cancer, does not mean it can't be enjoyed. It's junk food. Not one with much thought behind it, but because of how ridiculous it is, it's quite funny. The main character is quite the shameless trash which makes sense why he's only 4th in character popularity which is very low for a protagonist. Still funny though. I don't dislike him despite how trash he is because I'm sure the author knows how junkfood trash his story is, but because of the nonsense sometimes it makes me lose brain cells. If you are familiar with cultivation novels and enjoy the junk food trash novels, then you would definitely like this one. Hence, I like it. So proceed with caution readers~

The teacher of world literature might want to work in Thomas Mann's Death in Venice(28,770). The protagonist's denial of his illness and his infatuation with a young boy can lead to all kinds of thought-provoking discussion. Symbolism is also very important in the story, which was first published in 1912. One of Germany's premiere stylists, Mann is perhaps better known for his novels The Magic Mountainand Dr. Faustus, published in 1924 and 1947, respectively. There are various translations of Death in Venice available; for what it is worth, I like the Clayton Koelb version.
