“To be noble is to master the art of hiding one’s heart, to bury your emotions so deeply that even you forget they exist. Power belongs to those who can conceal their emotions behind an unyielding mask.”
Lucien Marcellus, though still in the bloom of youth, embodied an unshakable sense of control—a mastery far beyond his years. His sharp gaze commanded fear, and his name carried a weight that left no room for disobedience. Servants trembled at his presence, and his friends, as ruthless as they were loyal, only strengthened his grip on those around him.
Yet, Lucien was a man of detachment—an observer in a world he neither cared for nor sought to change. To him, life unfolded as it was meant to, a series of inconsequential events, none of which ever managed to spark his interest.
He found no joy in company, no curiosity in the affairs of others, and no desire to disrupt the monotony. His world was neatly arranged, until the day his father returned home with a stranger.
The boy, Noah, introduced as Lucien’s cousin, was young, quiet, and entirely unremarkable.
The boy’s sudden appearance raised more questions than answers, especially since no one had known of his existence until that moment. Lucien, true to his nature, dismissed the development as yet another insignificant twist in his father’s unpredictable whims.
Until he found a peculiar book, one whose cryptic words seemed to draw a connection to the boy.
Against his better judgment, he began to notice the boy’s every move, every glance, every hesitation.
For the first time in his carefully controlled existence, Lucien’s mask faltered.

Let this novel be praised! 👏 For the talent of author, for the splendid execution of the plot and its engaging storyline. It was none other than the author who made it worth reading this novel. Good luck with your success and may good fortune befell your work...haha. Kudos and Peace ✌️0 0 Reply

The novel is good. The sentence structure could use some fixing. Too many run on sentences and some periods or commas could help. Grammar could also use a little tweaking. Author just has to make sure that he goes over what he writes or just use grammarly.0 0 Reply

I decided to take a look at this after having read some of Skeleton Wizard's other works (Tempest of the Stellar War and Battle Frenzy). If you've read any of these other works, it's the same parallel set up with the main character's journey to becoming a legend, the loyal non human helper sidekick, an anonymous alternative identity, working toward making that ideal romance work, great friendships, and a splash of humor. Despite the similar themes, it's a worthy addition to the Tempest trilogy and a good read. Bear through the first few chapters as the world building and the terminology dump is a bit of a turn off but it quickly picks up. Also be aware that unlike Skeleton Wizard's other works, the Starcraft references are not subtle in this one. It's to the point they're actually playing a version of it in the school competitions in between killing Zerg haha.I do have to be critical of two things though. The editing is terrible. I don't mean to be rude, but it really is. Every chapter is riddled with grammatical errors and typos. Clearly better then MTL but it still makes reading unpleasant at times. There's even one chapter early on with editing notes left embedded in the text. They're still there despite being pointed out by readers in the comments and it being half a year later. The second thing would be the stability of the updates. As some other reviews have noted, the pace has dropped considerably and is erratic. I think if you hover over the release rate it's currently averaging 4 chapters a week vs. the scheduled 10 as of the time of this review. Granted, real life stuff happens, but it is something to take note of.I would definitely recommend reading this if you've read any of Skeleton Wizard's other works and can deal with the negatives I've mentioned.0 0 Reply
