The fact that these works are translated and yet convey such a powerful message make me wish more than ever that I knew how to read Mandarin.But I'm sure everyone has heard quite enough about how this work is translated, I'm sure you want to know what these stories are about. Right?But of course you do.I have noticed that throughout the stories the author appears to maintain a constant theme. All the stories are psychedelic in nature, exploring the limits of the human perspective and the morality of choices. The reason I would describe most of the stories as psychedelic is primarily that they all incorporate some element of shifting perspectives; I like to imagine them as some sort of warped and confusing version of the Aristotelian anagnorisis. The reason that this style of writing appeals to me is that it allows for the exploration of abstract concepts and it enables character development to noticeably take place extremely quickly; a feature that is critical for short stories.Obviously, they are not all completely psychedelic in nature. Even if it is thought-provoking and ingenious in its usage, anyone would get tired of watching the Matrix seven times in a row.This is why I love the other aspects explored in all the stories. I find that the author tends towards dystopian tragedies and romance stories every now and then, merging them with a wonderful but strange mixture of sci-fi and xianxia.In summary, the stories detailed in 'Short, Light, Free' are all wonderful (Except maybe for Mountain and Sea, you would require ample amounts of background knowledge on the xianxia genre and Chinese culture to get it, like a few hundred hours of reading them, or maybe watching a couple Kung Fu films). I would strongly suggest anyone to read them, they serve as great writing prompts (Or as mid-day snacks if your hobbies align with mine). its a good novel destroyed by a sucky translator, dropped it at chapter 64 because of translation quality is low compared to the first 1 to 62 chapter then it become sucks, its also a paid chapter so why is the translation is bad, for the translator of 1 to 60 thank you for you workand the rest you SUCK and blue fairy your face SUCK YOU

For the love of god and everything you believe or don't believe in: don't be foolishly swayed like I was by the water army who sings praises to this novel. It starts out decievingly well and has a good premise, and manages to go strong for a little while before brazely dropping the act and showing its true colors.Quick summary: mc is an incomprehensible moron who gets praised to highest heaven as the Supreme Genius Stragegist for having a half-decent/obvious plan once in a blue moon; as for the other 99,99% of the screentime he whiteknights around collecting bimbos in distress, getting his arse handed to him EVERY. SINGLE. TIME., only to be bailed out by unexplained coincidense / "awakened instincts" that are never mentioned again / enemies suddenly gaining a new set of chromosomes in exchange for half of their IQ / convenient moment of luckyness / deus ex machina (this time literally) / plot armor / a random loli that in a single second gains more power than mc ever had and finishes off a boss with a single lvl.1 fireball (yes, seriously).Have mercy on your nerve endings and spleen, just don't read it.

It is shame that this seems to be tropped. You were even invited as possible winner for competition. I read from the comments that there had been some problems with writer´s life. I don´t know what kind of problems. At least I hope you are still alive. As for the story. Naturally I like it very much. UIt is nice fresh air to have dark natured healer. Well, Alex is closer to neutral evil. I think he was just normal human when he came back. At least he is sane. To those how haven´t read the series. I will highly recomment to read. Even thought series is tropped. It is rare to find tropped series be so worth reading.

to chapter 1192, i coudn't find more, beacuse from then on chapters are repeating. story is good, Ml is protecting mc, he revenge for her, and using this reason to invite for dinner, their interactions is envious...Mc father has story, but the only thought i have for him is "why he won't dissapear
