Furthermore, I am troubled by the protagonist's mother, who constantly pressures her to marry and emphasizes the need for women to rely on others. Although cultural differences may play a role, her constant nagging about being obedient, patient, and conforming to societal expectations becomes烦人的, especially when it comes to the focus on female empowerment in a romance story.
I hope the story improves later on, but my current patience and inclination to continue have waned.
Their story begins with a blind date, which evolves into dating, engagement, and before you know it, they're registering for marriage. The ML's sweetness towards the MC is touching, especially when he realizes his feelings and expresses them through asking her to marry him. The proposal scene, where he doesn't say "I love you" but directly asks for marriage, is a heartwarming revelation.
Throughout the story, there are tender moments like the MC admitting her love for the ML while pregnant, and his selflessness in satisfying her cravings, even running out in the middle of the night for her favorite chips. His understanding and respect for her choices regarding the pregnancy showcase their strong bond.
The climax of the ML surprising the MC with a heartfelt proposal during her graduation ceremony, expressing gratitude for her presence and the new roles she's given him, is a beautiful testament to their love. The fact that the ML remains devoted solely to the MC, even when it comes to the love interests in other novels, emphasizes her unique impact on his life.
Overall, this novel is a heartwarming, low-key romance that highlights the importance of genuine connection, reliability, and emotional compatibility in a relationship. The ML and MC's interactions are filled with kindness, understanding, and mutual affection, making it a truly delightful read.
As others have mentioned, the story might not be everyone's exciting choice, but personally, being new to this type of plot, I find it engaging and enjoyable to read.
The romance in this book unfolded at a slower pace compared to my usual reads. While they did enter a formal courtship around chapter 18, their love hadn't fully blossomed yet; it was more of a mutual exploration phase, which I found refreshing and realistic.
What struck me were the character's maturity – the FL had high standards for her future partner, desiring someone intelligent and educated. However, as a romantic teenager, I couldn't help but feel a slight disconnect, as she seemed to view marriage as a means to secure a comfortable life. That perspective doesn't resonate with my idealized notions of commitment.
As for the ML, he was undoubtedly mature, but he didn't quite capture my heart like some other MLs I've encountered. There's just something missing in our connection.
Transmigration is a part of the plot, but it serves as a backdrop rather than the central theme. Su Rui's life takes a turn when she goes on a blind date arranged by her mother, and she forms a positive initial impression on Gu Yu Cheng. It wasn't love at first sight, just a casual liking.
The sole misunderstanding that occurs is light-hearted and doesn't escalate into a major emotional issue. As of now, I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. While it hits all the high points for me, perfection is elusive, so it doesn't quite reach 100%.
This review reflects my personal taste, and others might have different opinions. Their reviews could vary based on their preferences.
