The novel is indeed excellent, particularly during the early stages when the main character (MC) was young. The scene where he fought to defend the city for the first time was truly captivating! However, as the story progressed, the constant back-and-forth battles started to feel repetitive, which made it slightly less engaging at times. Despite that minor issue, overall, it's still a solid read.

The description labels both the main character (MC) and the protagonist (ML) as despicable, but I respectfully disagree. It's quite a沉重 narrative. The character development is so intense that it almost erases their original essence. If you're prepared to navigate a complex web of blurred truths, revenge, melancholy (centering on the MC), strategic maneuvering, loyalty, immense sacrifices, love-hate dynamics, then this might be the story for you.

The author deserves high praise for crafting an intriguing and captivating story that effortlessly unfolds, drawing readers in from the very beginning until the very end. The well-developed characters, intricate schemes, and gripping plot are thoroughly satisfying, leaving me eagerly anticipating future chapters.

Sikong, the main character, stands out as an intriguing figure – intelligent, resourceful, and compassionate, always finding his way through challenging situations. The male lead, with his impressive accomplishments and deep affection for Sikong, adds another layer of depth to the narrative.

It's disheartening to hear that the translator is considering discontinuing the translation, and I wholeheartedly implore anyone familiar with the language to step in and continue this fantastic tale. Such a promising story deserves to be shared and reach its full potential, as I am confident it would become one of the most beloved novels.

This book is an exceptional read. Despite the typical uncertainties surrounding the writing and plot, this particular work stands out, alongside titles like MXTX's Thousand Autumns, for its extraordinary prose and translation. The protagonist exhibits remarkable intelligence, making it particularly appealing to those, like myself, who prefer well-thought-out characters over overly simplistic ones. The focus on tactics, warfare, and intrigue, as well as the romance, adds depth to the narrative.

The story begins during the protagonist's childhood and swiftly shifts to adulthood after a traumatic event. The younger character, ML, who is around five years younger, retains a sense of innocence and naivety, falling head over heels in love. It evokes the image of a teenager eager for love but oblivious to the complexities of relationships.

As the story unfolds, the protagonist is consumed by their quest for revenge, which leaves them uninterested in romantic pursuits. So far, the tale has been captivating, filled with emotional depth and the potential for dramatic misunderstandings.

Given my current emotional state, I am choosing to stop here, as I seek only positive narratives that avoid excessive conflict stemming from miscommunication, which can sometimes provide temporary satisfaction but may not align with my preferences at this time. I'll revisit this book when the urge arises or my curiosity gets the better of me.

This novel was truly an exceptional reading experience. Despite initial hesitation due to mixed reviews and critiques about the author's writing style, I found myself thoroughly captivated. I became so engrossed that I devoted an entire week to reading it, even if the pacing did slow down around Chapter 220, it was still incredibly hard to put down.

The plot is filled with intense emotions and heart-wrenching scenes that tugged at my heartstrings. The main characters' depths were a highlight, although their relationship, particularly the toxic dynamic between the main couple (CP), featured frustrating moments, especially with the main male character, Feng Ye, who displayed inconsistent behavior. However, witnessing the growth and resolution of their challenges was ultimately satisfying.

One aspect that stood out was the well-developed supporting cast, which added richness to the story compared to novels that solely center on the leads. The intricate political backdrop felt genuine, and the author's portrayal of ancient China's political landscape brought authenticity and immersion to the narrative.

From my personal perspective, this novel combined elements of QJJ and 2HA. If you enjoyed those two works, there's a high likelihood that you'll appreciate this novel as well.

The novel initially showed great promise with its captivating battle scenes and intricate schemes in the early chapters. The romantic aspect, involving childhood friends turning into love interests, working together to achieve their goals in a corrupt society, seemed like a compelling storyline.

However, the romance became a letdown for me, particularly the male lead. Although I wouldn't outright call him childish, there were instances when I found his behavior unreasonable. For example, during a critical moment where he lost his father, his emotions clouded his judgment, causing him to treat the protagonist poorly without acknowledging the protagonist's past sacrifices for him.

The main character consistently demonstrated their loyalty and support, but it seemed like these actions went unnoticed by the male lead for quite some time. As the story stretched over 300+ chapters, I personally found the frequent miscommunication between them tiresome.

Moreover, the ending felt rushed to me, which contributed to my dissatisfaction. Having read other works from the author, I realized that her writing style doesn't align with my preferences, and I admit that comparing this novel to another favorite, 'Qiang Jin Jiu,' influenced my expectations. It's important to note that comparing unrelated novels isn't fair.

In summary, while this book might be a favorite for some, it didn't resonate with me personally.
