The story, in a nutshell, revolves around a race to the moon. If you're a fan of the series, this is quite an entertaining read. It delves deeper into the characters and their personalities in ways the games haven't, while also introducing some intriguing new faces. There's plenty of action that I'm sure all series enthusiasts will enjoy, along with a plot that keeps you guessing about what's happening inside the characters' minds. The ending is quintessentially ZUN-style, as expected, and the artwork is visually stunning.
I would certainly recommend this as a must-read if you're looking for more from Touhou, and it's a fantastic starting point for exploring the manga series. The plot is character-driven, so you'd better appreciate them, or this manga might not be your cup of tea.

Fast forward 1000 years, Youkai Sage Yukari now seeks to steal something from the Lunarians, thus initiating the far less serious Second Lunar War.
Story - 9
Despite being described as "far less serious," this narrative still carries significant depth. Yukari's motives are not straightforward, and her act of stealing from the Lunarians serves a purpose within her centuries-long planning. Even though she only steals a bottle of sake, it is a remarkable achievement given that it belongs to the Lunarians. The story expands on Touhou universe lore, such as explaining how Lunarian space travel functions, while leaving much for the audience to ponder.
Character - 9
The Lunarian society is introduced, showcasing a race with lifespans measured in thousands of years, possessing technology (like quantum cleaning fans) and magic surpassing everyone else. Their superiority complex and arrogance can make them seem self-centered, yet their abilities undeniably back up their confidence. Two primary Lunarians introduced are Yorihime, responsible for lunar defense, and her elder sister Toyohime. Despite limited screen time, they exhibit distinct personalities: Yorihime is a strict woman who takes everything seriously and values honor, while Toyohime is the more intelligent one pretending to be a ditz (or perhaps she genuinely is one).
Other main characters include those from the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Eirin, Reimu, Marisa, and Yukari. Surprisingly, Reimu becomes one of the few humans invited into the Lunarian city, likely due to her power and an attitude resembling that of the Lunarians. Eirin and Yukari continue their intricate plots surrounding the relationship between the Moon and Earth.
Overall - 8
Highly entertaining and thought-provoking, this is a solid Touhou manga. All that remains is for Hifuu Club Activity to depict the First Lunar War.
Story:
The narrative begins with Yukari Yakumo, who schemes to initiate the second lunar war to avenge her defeat from a thousand years ago. She endeavors to assemble an army, either by recruitment or manipulation, to serve her cause. However, the story doesn't solely revolve around her; it focuses more on the other principal characters targeted by Yukari's machinations. Yet, one mustn't overlook ZUN's penchant for unique endings that characterize his works.
Characters:
If there's one aspect Touhou is celebrated for, it's its characters. They are all skillfully written and vibrant, despite the extensive cast. Their interactions are consistently entertaining. The manga excels in presenting and managing these characters effectively. Additionally, the introduction of new characters from the Lunarian society adds intrigue.
Art:
The artwork is commendable, not flawless, but still impressive, with a visual appeal that captivates. I particularly admired the character designs.
Enjoyment:
Undoubtedly, I enjoyed this. Any Touhou fan would likely adore it, gaining insights into our beloved characters' lives post-game events and enjoying more humorous exchanges.
Overall:
I had an excellent experience reading this. It rekindled my affection for the Touhou franchise. In summary, if you're a Touhou enthusiast, this manga is undoubtedly for you. I wouldn't recommend it to those unfamiliar with the games, though.
Through this creation, Yukari executes her plan. The manipulation of borders, as a raw power, has its limits—as the manga illustrates, she cannot simply "gap" herself wherever she desires. Instead, she ingeniously leverages the nature of the moon, which shares similarities with Gensokyo. Just as the light side of the moon relates to its dark side in the same way the Outside World relates to Gensokyo, the connection between Gensokyo and the Lunar Capital lies in their shared construction of borders. Both are fantasies isolated within fantasies, embodying the "floating world" concept of ukiyo-e. The essence of these borders, both of the Moon and Gensokyo, is explored twice: first, through Yuyuko's entrance via the reflection of a full moon on a still lake, and second, through Remilia and her companions' entry, facilitated by their interpretations of the spectral illusions inspired by the Outside World's space program.
This manga is highly recommended for those seeking to grasp the nature of Gensokyo and Yakumo Yukari's ideology.
