“If there existed a tainted being among the hwarangs, who would it be? Of course, it’d be Seol Yeong-rang who uses sorcery to call upon spirits!”
Hwarang Seol Yeong, who was named as the tainted person who’d bring forth a great disaster one day.
There was only one way to get rid of the false accusations and return to his rightful position.
It was to prove he wasn’t tainted by evil spirits by solving abnormal incidents.
Then, Zaha, the governor of the previous generation’s hwarang, the man who killed a Great Chaotic God eight years back and disappeared without a trace, appeared in front of Seol Yeong…

We have gotten accustomed to self-inserting so much that we forgot novels were supposed To be stories about actual characters.
It is truly saddening that people that only look for self-insert novels come and give novels with less then perfect MC's sh*t for no reason causing people who would be interested in an actual MC for once to turn away before they even give it a try..
TL;DR : this is a novel with actual characters not some blank slates
The plot is as straightforward as basic shoujo can get. A shy girl finds herself at the mercy of a popular guy whom all the girls adore, yet in the end, he only has eyes for her.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of shoujo. If you're looking for something innovative and fresh, this isn't it! The story itself is rather dull. Thankfully, it's also quite short, which makes it a decent read. What saves it is the mature and ecchi content; without that, it would have been forgettable.

The characters are equally unremarkable—just your typical shoujo couple.

The conclusion happened rather quickly and was somewhat confusing, but given how simple the series is, it fits.

Ultimately, the love portrayed is innocent and sweet, the humor is well-timed, and the mature scenes add a lot to the series. It's definitely a guilty pleasure.

As I mentioned at the start of this review, you'll likely read it, enjoy it to some extent, and then never think about it again.
