When Ed served in the military as a mecha-human, he never thought about the future.

Like every soldier around him, he believed he would eventually perish in the line of duty. And he never feared that outcome—after all, he had nothing to lose except his life.

The only thing that could be called entertainment in his existence was a novel he had been forced to read. A dull, uninspiring story.

Or so he thought.

Who would have guessed that the very same novel would become his greatest asset after his death?

Reincarnated into that same world, he now finds himself in the role of a minor villain—the one destined to murder the heroine’s parents.

Born into a family that loves him, yet heading toward a doomed future, he realizes one thing:

If he doesn’t take the protagonist’s place, everything will collapse.

And so, he must change the story.
