During the morning court session, the officials all raised the matter that I have yet to select concubines. The regent was late, making me so anxious that I was pacing back and forth beside the dragon throne. After half a stick of incense’s time, the regent finally appeared, dressed in red.
“Your Majesty, I have a proposal,” he said.
I quickly pulled the regent onto the dragon throne and hid behind him. “Everyone, just listen to the regent,” I said.
Suddenly, all the officials knelt in unison: “This is absolutely unacceptable, Your Majesty.”
I was puzzled. Beside me, the regent bowed and said, “Your Majesty, I propose to marry you.”
“Then let’s go with the regent’s plan… What!”
