"What I want, the Heavens shall not lack! ”“What I don’t want, had better not exist in the Heavens!”This is a story which originates between the Eighth and Ninth Mountains, the world in which the strong prey upon the weak.“My Name is Meng Hao! The Ninth Generation Demon Sealer, I shall seal the Heavens!“ I Shall Seal the Heavens, otherwise known as Wo Yu Feng Tian, is a Xianxia novel written by Er Gen.The story revolves around Meng Hao, who starts off as a failing scholar and ends up as an omnipotent. In my opinion, this guy is the best main character I’ve seen so far. This comes from his character development and unique personality, which is antithesis to those of typical novels.Absolutely shameless down to his marrows, a bashful killer, and a ruthless con artist, Meng Hao truly exhibits the behaviors people’d expect out of villains. He rips off money from people by hurting them, treating their wounds that he caused, and asking for treatment money. What’s more surprising is that this is all done in the daylight, when people are watching. However, shamelessness (which I thought would last until the end) eventually came to an end after Meng Hao going to tens of thousands of years of life – But, honestly, it’d be weird if he still ripped people off of their money as one of the oldest people in the universe. The process of his change in personality was quite long, but it was quite evident throughout the entire novel. There were many factors that contributed to this change, but I won’t name any of them except one : becoming strong. When Meng Hao was young, he was abandoned and he was a failing scholar, so of course he had to be ruthless and shameless to survive off of the little money he had; but, as he took another route in life and turned to cultivating and gaining power, his mindset slowly began to change. He no longer view people as organisms which he can rip money off from and began to look at them as an old, wise sage would. That’s enough about the MC, now about the plot :The plot in the beginning is very, very vague in the beginning, it’s almost as if this is just about the journey of Meng Hao. But, as various events take places, you’ll begin to notice something strange about what was going on with him little by little, until you reach a certain point when you are suddenly hit with a huge plot twist. (This twist, let me tell you, isn’t one of the cliche ones you’ll see from the typical American novels. Trust me)This story isn’t the typical “weak to strong” type of story, but rather “main character literally defying the heavens.” If you want to start reading light-novels, I’d recommend you start off with this one. Trust me, you won’t regret it!0 0 Reply

I'm at chapter 3. I like the gender bender concept of the story. I watched an anime before, sorry forgot the title, where the ml was turned into a girl. Lol. I love that kind of story.0 0 Reply

I'll be honest, I had to read this novel multiple times to really get the gist of everything. I'll start off by saying that the writing there was very good, there's emotion, imagery and the scenes as well as interactions between characters are shown nicely. No info dumps whatsoever, thus making the reading experience engaging. Now, while I do understand that the author stated that this is a slow burn novel, I was quite lost as the first few chapters. There were things going on, they were being told to me, but I'm still trying to figure what does Deus really want in the end, because his goals seem extremely vague for me at the moment. The remaining chapters up until the recent chapter felt much more clear in terms of direction. Also, why are there two tags to this story? modern and medieval? Also, why are there two tags to this story? modern and medieval? because I barely see any detail containing any one of the tags, and more information would be nice. Also, I haven't really seen the sci fi aspects stand out. In short, the writing itself is good, but I believe the world building and story direction can be better.0 0 Reply

The title says Utopian but it's a rather dystopian and dark experience. The character has a lot of inner turmoil, and you can feel his struggle, making you root for him. Let's hope he can show everyone who underestimated him, where he really belongs!0 0 Reply

"This is the Xua Tian Academy's exam place" he said in a cold, emotionless voice. "The Academy does not support slackers. Now that you're here, you will finish the exam and get tested, upon which you can leave. If you try to escape, well, there are many wild beasts in these lonely mountains, and you will certainly die. The first test is to enter this house one by one.0 0 Reply
