The 22nd Century

Devil's Playground. The most popular single-player VR RPG ever made. Everyone loved it. The crazy freedom, the insane storylines, and the brutal politics—it was a masterpiece.

And then there was Kaius. A nobody graphic designer working at Goman Games World Limited, the company behind it all. He had the perfect life: a fat bank account, supportive parents, and a girlfriend everyone envied. But guess what? He hated it. Every bit of it. Nothing mattered anymore.

So when he died in a freak accident and woke up inside Devil's Playground as a prince, Kaius thought he’d hit the jackpot. "This is it! My second chance to live it up."

Yeah, no. Reality (or whatever this was) slapped him hard.
Turns out, he wasn’t just any prince. He was the forsaken prince. No power. No allies. No one who cared if he lived or died. Welcome to rock bottom, Your Highness.

"A system? Wait, does this mean…?" Kaius froze, then grinned like a lunatic.
"This is just like those webnovels! I’m the protagonist now! Oh, this is going to be epic."

But life as a protagonist wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Politics? Ruthless. Trust? A myth. Survival? A full-time job.
In a world where betrayal lurks in every shadow, kingdoms are built with iron and blood, and everyone has a secret, Kaius must fight for his place.

I wanted to give this a poor review, but it's definitely at least a three star novel. If you don't mind plenty of English errors, though not the most I've ever seen, and the author having no idea how to write dialogue, then it's decent. The characters don't have much depth, it's obviously a wish fulfillment novel, and there's sort of a weak to strong vibe. In a way.The story itself has its unique points and a bit of potential, but I really can't enjoy it. Honestly, the poor writing makes it distasteful, so I automatically feel like every character is less intelligent because their dialogue is grammatically incorrect. Author obviously isn't using spellcheck despite it being free in multiple programs. The author has dreams, and the courage to act on them, but not the care to see that everything is written properly. I mean, he hasn't even Googled how to write dialogue, or learned by example from literally any book that isn't a play. Don't understand how that's possible, but, I'd be willing to revisit this review if some improvement was made.

"What do you mean? Ivar said that before every man gets married, they have to have a 'bachelors' life'. So, I asked Hilda what 'bachelors' life' meant and she said that it means to dance with different women. So here!" Asta's innocent smile almost hid the suspicious words mentioned by their main butler Ivar.

'Although this man was only at the late stage of Qi gathering, his combat power was definitely at the peak stage' he said to himself.
