Born in the era of Eclipse, where wild animals were no longer the greatest threat to mankind but monsters were. Creatures of nightmares roamed the land, and fear had become humanity’s constant companion. In this world, power reigned supreme, and those who wielded it commanded respect.
They say that upon reaching adolescence, one has a chance but small to be chosen by the Eclipse. Awakening is unpredictable, dictated by forces beyond human control. But with modern advancements, technology has finally made a breakthrough. For those who have yet to awaken, an injection of Eclipse Essence can stimulate the process.
While this increases the likelihood of awakening, it does nothing to determine the gift one receives. That remains immutable. Fate alone decides whether one rises or remains in the shadows. All one can do is pray for fortune’s favor.
Ian Maverick, a boy on the cusp of adulthood, had yet to awaken. With no means to afford Eclipse Essence, he had only one option which is to rely on sheer luck.
They say a strong body improves the chances of awakening. Clinging to that belief, Ian trained relentlessly, pushing his limits day and night, hoping and praying to awaken with at least an Intermediate-ranked gift. A single chance to change his fate.
